I like salads. And I for my part am a big hairy man, that eats raw steak and has nuts the size of Deimos and Phobos. Eating salds doesn't make you less manly. Playing games with other colours then brown and without weapons does.

I guess that means I'm some kind of flamboyant wuss. I don't eat salads often, but nothing beats a good ceasar salad on the side. I also cook my own meals and clean up after myself. By that logic, I handed over my man card years ago.

Oh well. Still gonna proudly ask the waitress for a salad as a side to my medium-well steak anyway.

I make salads all the time. lettuce, tomato, cucumber, cut up hard-boiled egg, shredded bacon, chicken, bell peppers, jalapeno ranch dressing, & sliced almond toppings.

I've been known to substitute chicken for shrimp or salmon.

Well, if you want to get technical the whole "Men and Salads" thing is stereotypically meterosexual more than anything. In general a guy might have a salad as an addition to a meal, but not for a meal, and still be considered traditionally manly. The whole "I'm a guy who eats Salads" is going into Seinfeld/meterosexual yuppie type territory, heck they even did whole episodes of Seinfeld about things like the cafe where they went to get "The Big Salad" and so on.

Whether the standard is fair or not, doesn't change the fact that it is a standard, and your girlfriend isn't exactly wrong in noticing this.

You should be flattered that she cares enough to let you know. Whether you care or not is another story entirely, but it is something to be aware of.
