Strictly speaking I like Fallout more. However, as far as games developed by bethesda go, I prefer TeS because (me bitching about fallout 3(I'm sick of talking about it so I'll just let you put your own imagination to use)). So what I'm saying is I don't want bethesda to make any more fallout games. Or at the very least write anymore.

Fallout. I tried Oblivion and it was DULL. Skyrim was alright, but lacking in charm. I'd rate Fallout 3 and New Vegas above them easily.

Elder Scrolls.

I've wasted thousands of hours on Morrowind and Oblivion because each region has so much visual variety. I only put around 200 hours in Fallout 3 because everywhere is the same drab environment. There's practically nothing to do when you get past Rivet City anyway.

I loved the Fallout games... but Skyrim is too good to ignore... For me, it's a tie.

BUT, if we could have a Fallout game with Skyrim's engine? Fallout. Hands down.

I voted for TES, simply because I care more the the game lore. But honestly, they both deliver a fantastic experience. I play which ever one I'm in the mood for - futuristic role-play, whenever I feel sorry for humanity, or when I want to slay dragons with swords and magic.

And also, my copy of Fallout 3 is buggy as all hell, so I can never play longer than two hour stints without it dying on me. It's a bit hard to get immersed when things come to a grinding halt suddenly.

Argh, that is a difficult question indeed. I sunk days into Fallout 3 and absolutely loved the atmosphere and feel of the game. It was brilliant. New Vegas however I barely touched, it just didn't draw me in as well... Maybe I'll try it at a later date again...

Morrowind was engaging if a little frustrating at times. Oblivion I loved from the start. Skyrim I've only devoted about 40 hours to, but that's enough to know it's good.

So, in terms purely based on how much I've played, I'm going to go with the TES series. Each one of the games I've played from that series has managed to hold me for a while.

Fallout

I have yet to find a spell/sword/bow/axe that's been more satisfying to use than a shotgun.
I'm going to go with this. I love the environments of Elder Scrolls more, but the combat feels better in Fallout and I weigh that more.

Of course, take into account I've only played Morrowind, Oblivion, and Fallout 3. This could shift when I play Skyrim and New Vegas.

Elder Scrolls, since I like sword and sorcery better. I just like the look of swords, armour, mythical creature, and the like. Plus though I love fallout, its a bit to green and grey.

I would go with Fallout as I've played TES a little bit, but I've never been too intrigued to carry on with the story. I mean, you're a prisoner--go off and do this. The landscape? Why, its perfectly fine, minus a few areas that are far away. There feels like there's no immediate danger besides a few stray bandits. Fallout, however, has the world put to crap and everyone's struggling to survive--walls are hastily erected and armor is whatever clothes are possible.
Also, the settings are familiar, yet unique in their own way, with a caste of quirky characters and little tid-bits of silliness. The way of 50's science and technology makes the common theme of conflicts with the past to advance into the future very enjoyable.
And as a personal note, as much as I love swords and bows, there is little variation between them. You can say the same for guns, yet there are sniper rifles, shotguns, smgs, battle rifles, pistols, flamethrowers, then we have all the melee weapons that are used in fantasy. The magic is missing, but that's what VATS is for.

Elder Scrolls.

What can I say? I like swords. And vegetation. And stuff that isn't brown. Fallout games do occasionally provide some scattered examples of these things, but nowhere near enough to compete with the Elder Scrolls series!

I've never really liked Fallout. I can't really find anything immersive in it. Whereas I love Elder Scrolls, so yeah, my vote goes for that.

I will have to go with Fallout, for several reasons.
(I played only Fallout 3 and New Vegas)

1. Fallout world seems to be more alive than the world in TES.
As I progress, people start talking about quests I've complete.

2. I usually like swords and magic more than guns, but since TES' battle system is so awful and Fallout system is decent, no contest.

3. Fallout makes me care for some NPC's. In all TES games I've played (since Morrowind), I only cared for my self. Yup. There was no NPC character that I cared for.

4. New Vegas' main story is interesting and has some depth. Skyrim has side quests that are more interesting than it's main story.

So what Bethesda IP do you prefer, Elder Scrolls or Fallout?

I have always enjoyed the Fallout Franchise more than the Elder Scrolls.
Fallout 3 and New Vegas had:
-Memorable and Varied Landscape
-Weapon Variety
-Dark Humor
-Memorable Characters
-50s aesthetic
-Enemies that make me shit my pants
-Memorable Missions
-Fallout Lore
Only one of the Fallout games has been made by Bethesda, and it was the worst of the series in terms of adherence to tone and canon.

I've been into the Elder Scrolls longer than I've been into the Fallout series and Morrowind remains one of my top three games of all time, but since Fallout 2 is also in that list I'd be loathe to choose between them. Can I not just wuss out and say that when I want to play a fantasy RPG I play TES and when I want to play a Sci-Fi RPG I play (Black Isle/Obsidian) Fallout? Which I do anyway...

Elder Scrolls has magic, and anything with magic in it is automatically better.

Not to say I dislike Fallout, I love it very much, but Elder Scroll's "world" is more appealing and open for adventure.

Elder Scrolls,

My reasoning is when Bethesda got the IP for Fallout they actively gutted the lore and killed it with fire. The game was ok if you hadn't played the original Fallout games but it lost the charm, the humor, the story. Then Obsidian, who had members that worked on the originals got ahold of it and made it proper.

Its my opinion but, eh Bethesda ruined the Fallout lore, while Elder Scrolls carried on strong.
