Poll: Homeworld 3? Could be!

While trolling around the internet for something cool, I found this!

It's a game called "Infinity: The Quest for Earth".
It's a work in progress title by a bunch of developers and contributors of a MMO RTS 3D space game that has all the aspects of Real-time strategy, Space Dog-fighting and micro-economy. The premise is to make a name for yourself however you see fit, either through piracy, exploration, mega-business, whatever!

Unfortunately the game is not complete and will take time before it actually is, but it does have a working Space combat model to test the games' Networking, Physics and Graphics. It's called the Infinity Combat Prototype. You can get it here.

On the poll: I preferred the original Homeworld over the sequel, the sequel sure was pretty, and a good game, but the story I found less interesting and the strategy felt less deep with so many ships that could do so much (less need for a mix of fighters, corvettes, frigates and capital ships).

With that said, this game sounds like it might be interesting, but also it seems far too early to tell. Probably looking at a couple years until release and a lot can change in that time (it seems very ambitious, and time has a way of whittling away at games in development). I'm not much of a fan of Massively Multiplayers either.

In the meantime, I'm still looking forward to Sins of a Solar Empire. Although a mix between a 4X and Real-Time-Strategy, it's one of the few space based games to be coming out that I have high hopes for. Have to see on that one, but it's scheduled for release next month, so here's to hoping.

Infinity looks neat. It won't fulfill its promises (no MMO game ever comes close), but I like the idea of real-time, twitch-based combat. I'd like to actually participate in all the fights I get into.

I've been following this game for awhile now. Looks pretty promising, but I've had it bookmarked for so long that it just fell off my radar.

I heard about this when it showed up on gamedev.net. it looks interesting but i haven't looked into the gameplay yet . i'll favorite it for later.

A true homeworld 3 would be made of instant win... and gold.

Unfortunately infinity is NOT an RTS game.

No, if anything Relic would develop Homeworld 3.

Infinity will also NEVER go live. It's always been the game with big ideas that is mysteriously unable to find a publisher or give even a rough idea for it's release date.
