I don't know how many of you visit GameSpot on a regular basis. I know it has kind of a bad rep but the site has always been good to me and rounds out my other gaming sites/magizine (Escapist, GameInformer, and GameTrailers). I don't know how many of you know but GameSpot currently has a contest for the "All Time Greatest Video Game Hero." Obviously it is nothing scientific or serious but it is a fun little interesting thing to see how you favorite characters stand up against the general gaming public.

The problem is that a group of individuals has taken it upon themselves to destroy this contest and ruin the fun for everyone else. They decided to take the most obscure character they could find and cheat the game so they he can win. Using a variety of proxies and other methods the same person will vote as many times as they can for the same character.

I know that this seems like it's no big deal and it's just a stupid contest, and to an extent you are right, but do you honestly think that they wont eventually come here and pull the same bullshit? What they are doing here is an insult to any good, honorable gamer. They are saying that our opinion doesn't matter and that they will do whatever they want because they can. I wont stand for it and I hope you guys wont either.

I know that there are more of us then them and we need to show them that.

PLEASE! I implore all of you to go and vote for Samus Aran against Bub and Bob and show these little punks that they can't win against us.

It's just a lame contest, let the 4chan-ers have their fun.

My point was that the other guys where cheating to win, as in using proxys to vote multiple times. That's what had me upset.

Your cheating, too. Your getting outside help so you can win. How do you know they are even doing this?

Self righteousness clouds judgment. But I think that he is assuming that so he can feel he did a good deed by cheating in a slightly different way to win a useless contest.

(I think I rented it out so much the local shop gave it to me aswell when I was a kid, along with some epic car game which I need to remember...)
