You can choose both.

You dont have to be completely bond to one. Its not like your married to any of the two fractions.

If the people that you play with constantly are so shocked that you playing boht sides of the field, than forget them. They have there head are stuck so far up there ass that they dont see that its only a game.

Now for my actull opinion I would have to say horde. To me its about the looks, I already am human why would I want to be one for my fantasy persona? I demand th right to have hooves and horn, a tail would be nice to.

If you havent guessed Im a moo cow...

i like the alliance because of the beauitful citys and landscapes that they have, and the fact u can get a tiger or robotic chicken as a mount.
BUT , for overall playtime i would have to so HORDE, for the soul reason that all the kids play alliance so having a conversion without someone spaming something stupid ( i cant writing what i really think of them) then starting a bloodly wave of dum people joining in. i find the players that play horde are much nicer and will help u at more without as much name calling as u would from the alliance, plus horde rule 80% of all the Battleground.

Plus the best thing about the Horde is the races have the best dances.
Nothing beats a green gnome dancing, not even a bear.

Don't play alliance, every kid wants to be the good guys.

Don't play Horde, every kid wants to be a big bad orc.

There, now I've mentioned the majority of arguments in this thread.
Hehe, thats exactly what im seeing.

I think there isnt much difference at all, both sides have their characters who will swear blindly that they're all kids on the other faction.

*PS- Alliance is better*

Hey, good point - What about the Broken Front? Horde just attacked the Alliance soldiers there. From behind. When they were fighting Scourge.

This isn't a betrayal a la Wrathgate. This was Horde soldiers being ordered to turn on people who were fighting the Undead.

How can you Hordies defend that, eh?
Gold and experience, it was done by adventurers who have no real moral obligations and thus not a decision of the horde itself.

If I remember right, it's given by someone who is pissed off about the Wrathgate to a Varian degree essentially saying "Fuck this they are useless, go kill them".

I think there's immaturity on both sides (I play both) - however, the real fun part is the lack of even a semblance of role playing. Here's a fun experiment you can try:
Go to Stranglethorn Vale.
Find Nessingwary's Expedition.
Stand around (or even better, talk to a questgiver) until you get ganked by two to five members of the "Noble" alliance.
Get camped, as the graveyard is just yards away.

Isn't that supposed to be HORDE tactics in the eyes of the goody-goodies?
If you really get off on that kind of thing, roll a troll or forsaken or whatever. It is a LOL moment (but very unfunny) every time a "Human Paladin, Lvl ??" does that.

Both factions are exactly the same... they just look different. Both sides play the same, both groups of players act the same and do the same things. It really, really, really doesn't matter. All the myths about 'kids play alliance' is crap. All the myths about 'all of some people play this side or that' are crap for that matter.

I have both Alliance and Horde characters and there is absolutely no difference in terms of the people. There are idiots and helpful people on both sides. The only difference I found was there may have been a trend for horde to do better in the Arenas but I'm not sure.

So if you like noble castles and knights of valour play Alliance. If you prefer the life of a nomadic tribe and corrupted power play Horde.

Horde.

I started the series with the very first game, so the Horde just feels more authentically "Warcraft" to me. Besides, every time I try to play Alliance, I eventually overhear a conversation so banal that I defect back to the Horde in disgust. A shame, really, Stormwind is such a cool city.

I don't play it, but the Game Informer guys are all Horde, so I'm going Alliance just to spite them. They used to be pretty good reviewers before the WoW addiction took over.

That, and Alliance sounds like the good guys.
It really depends on what Faction you are playing as,Horde are evil if you play on Alliance, and Alliance are evil if you play Horde.
Well, lets put it this way: Horde is a word that screams Chaotic Group, and Alliance is a word that screams teamwork.

You are so right, but so wrong.
Online it works the other way :p

The 3x3 D&D alignment grid is a lousy way to distinguish the factions, especially considering the differences between the races in even one group. Especially since Burning Crusade came out.

I personally prefer Horde as there is more variation than human, smaller human, even smaller human, purple human with big ears! But there isn't any difference.

That's true, a group of Horde look infinitly cooler than an Alliance group.

Also, we have Ragefire Chasm. And the Barrens.

Well, Alliance are pretty, Horde have good race bonuses, so which do you want, pretty gameplay or good gameplay? I think that's why Alliance attracts the kiddies so much.

Play whatever you feel like. Anyone who says that there's an inherent difference between the Horde and the Alliance is mistaken or lying. Maybe there's a variation from server to server, i.e. "All Horde on Skullcrusher are assholes, but all Horde on Shattered Hand are welcoming and friendly" but really, it all averages out. Play what you enjoy playing, whether that means a muscular green humanoid, a cow-man, an effeminate elf, a tiny person with pink hair, a space-goat-lady, or whatever.

Those dirty Horde can go die in a fire, though.
This is completely true. Faction rivalry is completely sever dependent and player created. On the old server I used to play on (I was Alliance) none of the players who mattered had any beef with the other faction, in fact we were all pretty good pals and would just mess around with each other all the time.

Jumping on and harassing a Horde vent channel during a big raid was always a fun way to pass the time... it was always in good taste of course... well usually anyway.

Play what you enjoy the most. I played Horde and Alliance, but ultimately my favorite character of all time was my dear Human Priest Yureina. I moved them to Horde for a time first as an Undead, and later as a Blood Elf, but I liked the character as human too much so I moved them back to being Human after my Horde guild broke apart. But... I was really attached to that character, so maybe that was just be wanting to keep them human.

If you are attached to your character in that same way... i'd keep them the same way.

Now i'm starting to miss that character... :(

Orcs are just vagrant bums that wandered into Azeroth one day after getting totally wasted on demon's blood, they then got their asses kicked and have been sobbing about it ever since like the blubbering drunks they are.

"Oh it was the 'demons blood' that made us all angry and want to kill millions of innocent people. It wasn't *our* fault!"

Psh. Take some responsibility for yer actions ya bloody drunks. Orcs are the drunk drivers of WOW.

So go Alliance. Why? Our drunks can hold their drink, they're called Dwarves and they're awesome.

Doesn't make much of a difference any more.

I remember the old days, when the factions' communities were actually different. /nostalgia

It made one hell of a difference back then... Alliance was pretty much a shithole of little kids and Horde was pretty much all hardcore badasses.

Now that Blizzard has fixed most of the incredibly rampant and blatant Alliance favoritism that existed in the game for a long, long time, the populations have about evened out. (Both the overall populations, and the ratio of idiots to non-idiots)

Statistically Horde outnumbers Alliance now across most PVP servers by a margin of nearly 2:1, and no I'm not just making that up. LINKY. Some of the old PvE server remain Alliance biased, but that's about it.

I remember when the Horde were the underdogs. Now it's the opposite way around. Funny how that works.

And how has Blizzard been Alliance biased? You realize there's a giant statue of an Orc outside their offices and that the lead developer as well as the man in charge of the story, Metzen is his name if I recall right, both play Horde exclusively right? That the company band is lvl70 Tauren, and that Thrall is basically WOW Jesus!

Having both sides at one point or another, I never really saw any imbalance. Not content-wise anyway.
