I do believe I definitely am Tier 1.

I listen to:

Country, Folk, Metal, Rock, Pop, Rap, Electronic, New Age and Reggae.

Also, hundreds of sub-genres of these... Including genre crossovers (Elecropop, Punk Rap, Folk Metal etc)

I have such a wide range of genres I listen to... I find it hard to think of people who'd limit themselves to the higher tiers (Though I did when I was younger, back when I listened to pretty much only Metallica)

Tier 1,

I'm quite into Folk, Pop/Rock, Electronic, Classical and I "think" Stage & Screen. I also occasionally dip into R&B, Rap, Country and Jazz but anything from those genres is usually more of an oddity than a regular listening trend.

Tier 5

I really get stuck on a certain band/ type of sound :/

Struggle to move away from that, see it as a blessing and a curse.

The thing is...I can listen to all sorts of music: there are country songs, pop songs, rap songs, techno songs, that I all love. But it's hard for me to find the songs that I can really get into. I don't usually buy CDs cause there are only 2-3 tracks that I listen to and the rest I find hard to keep with.

In addition to this most of the music I listen to is foreign language, so it's hard for me to relate to fans of English language bands.

The only music I absolutely hate is A Capella.

In short, broad tastes but only of select few foods.

My dad's a drummer, so I grew up with music. I got exposure to pretty much every genre. Of the list, the only genres I have zero interest in are Children's, Rap, R&B, Reggae, and Religious. I'm open to pretty much everything else, though. So yeah, I'm probably "Tier 1."

Definitely Tier 1. I listen to everything, from rock to classical, electro to hiphop, trance to pop. I don't really know what aspects of a song are important for me to like it, but I'm not sure I care to know anyway. ^^

I guess I'm a solid tier one, following are a few examples of my most listened music:

Hilltop Hoods: rap

Queen: Rock

Globus: ???

Metallica: Metal

I'd add more(like the 1812 overture), but that's be too much page stretch, sufffice to say, I just like music in general.

I'd go with a tier 1. Though I listen to way more then two of those. And if I take the ones I wouldn't consider myself a listener of

Children's (Well, semi obvious)
Comedy/Spoken (Why're these lumped together? Unless they mean actual taped comedy, which has no pretensions of being music for the most part)
Easy Listening - Made up genre of no real definition, though I'd probably still be able to pull some albums out for it if I looked at Allmusics grouping.
Holiday - Again kind of vague. You can make any music in any style and have it be "Holiday"
International - ROFL. Probably still have it somewhere though.
Religious - This is again kind of a silly label like Holiday was, for all the same reasons.
Stage & Screen - Could also be prettymuch anything.
Vocal - Well I have some straight up acapella stuff, I guess thats what this is.

I probably listen to a lot of different artists in nearly every genre of Tier 1... and then some...

But hey, I am a musician and music is my life so its probably not that surprising.

Listen to at least 10 things from the list, so I guess that's Tier 1. Industrial metal, bossa nova, G-funk, hardstyle, whatever crazy label you want to stick on it, I'm not too concerned about - if it sounds good (to me) I'll dig it. I'll give almost anything a try too, there's a lot of music out there that drives me up the wall as well but you're only missing out if you shut yourself into something specific.

That "crack" you heard was a few people getting genre whiplash.

I'm very firmly in Tier 1.
