Afonso is a fairly rare name, even with our first king being named Afonso. I'm portuguese by the way. =)

In my country of birth or the name's country of origin? Because in my country of birth there are about three people who have Fionnuala/Fionnula as a first name. There are a one or two more with simpler spellings.

In its country of origin however I have no idea; all I can tell you its not among the top 25 names in the country. I think it's pretty uncommon there too.

Results?

Sweden: Very rare

Ireland: Uncommon/Rare

I think. Any Irish who can tell me?

EDIT: Took away joke that upon re-reading made no sense. I am sooooo tired... -_-;

I have never met or even heard of a single other person named Collin in my entire life.
I've lived in the USA all my life, so I have no idea about it's rarity outside of America.

I know a couple of people with my name, but all in all, my name isn't too common. Also, there are few different spellings of my name, so that can get a little confusing.

Nelson. I'd say rare, just because I don't know anyone with that for a first name.

My name is "Sebastian" but since I moved to Canada it's been "Seb" and I prefer it that way, if I say my own full first name it sounds weird to me.
I was named Sebastian because my mother always liked the name since she was young...so I am told

I have yet to meet anyone outside of my family who has my first name and have not met anybody who has my middle name. I think that sets the standards of rare for me.

According to Wolfram|Alpha 1 in 5173 have my first name and 1 in 198 people have my last name. That means that theoretically ~26 of every 5173 people in the USA have my name or ~5 of every 1000 people. So I guess that's kinda common.

Michelangelo, not sure how rare it is. I would gather that it's rare in the US. Not sure about other parts of the world.

I have the... 595th most popular name in the US.
Good thing I usually just go by my middle name. First name is the rare one. That website can't even calculate how few people there are. Yay, I feel special :D

On the website "How many of me", you can check how many people in the US have your name. My first name is fairly common, but I am the only person in the US with my first and last name together. I am the one, true (insert name here).
I am the complete opposite lol, you yell my name at a family reunion and you could get at least 4 heads to turn, not including my grandpa and his dad who are dead. sooo yeahhh John is very common

I would say rare, since no one ever gets it right.

It's supposed to be uncommon to spell Colin with two L's, but everyone does it. When did it become the norm!?

Though supposedly they're around the top 100 names for boys in the USA (a few years ago mind you) so I'm not sure.

Just found this funny. More on topic, my name is fairly uncommon.

Very rare, apparently. I base this on two things:
1. Almost everyone I've ever introduced myself to has thought I said "Russ" the first time. (It's ROSS god fucking damnit!! And no, I DON'T dress for less. Go fuck yourself.)
2. I have only ever met one other Ross. In my entire life.

Let's just say I've met another Aeonknight before I've met another person that shared my RL name.
