I want to know how people think the universe started (seriously)

I personally think that it started when the one before it collapsed then exploded.

I'm religious, but I do believe in the Big Bang theory. Crazy, huh? I kind of believe in a mixture of religion and science, i.e. God made the science happen.

Edit: Damn, beaten to it.

The membrane of one universe collided with the membrane of another and in a glorious Big Bang the membrane of our universe (and consequently our universe) was formed.

By God

I reserve the righ to say that I think that the universe started when the previous one ended, and its ust a infinite chain of previous universes, pretaining to the law of equivilant exchange, which thusly states the no matter can be created with out the loss of an equal amount of matter

Never met a god. If or when I do, I will ask him/her/it for evidence that he/she/it created the universe. Until then I will believe in the evidence that we've found so far. Background radiation, physics, etc.

Just Big Bang, here. You could lean one way or the other, but without basis it's all wishful thinking. The universe is here, and so far, we can tell there's an explosion and that's it.

We're not sure of anything else and I'm pretty sure it doesn't really matter.

I'm offended by the way people seem to throw the image of the almighty CTULHU around these parts.

May the madness take you!!

Well ignoring the massive misconception that there was nothing before the big bang i would say, two volatile particles collided and the resulting explosion was the big bang.
The emanating radiation is a strong suggestion that this was the case. Also as the entire universe is about 1% of what was created in the big bang i do not believe that it was crafted or designed. It's commonly known now that almost all of the matter (regular, strange, anti etc) annihilated itself and everything around it about an instant after it was formed. We are the crumbs on the edge and it was all natural.

Big Bang. That's my answer. I'm of the happy mindset that we are nothing but flukes. The chances of existence are miniscule, and I'm just lucky to be here. There is no point to life, except to live until death. Did I say happy? I meant slightly depressing.

I have the theory that mankind are the only intelligent life in the universe (very unlikely but nevermind) and will eventually create a weapon that will work as a massive 'restore to factory settings.'
I think it's an infinate cycle and is how this, and all universes began
