I play "Let's make life easy" first time around by looting all I can and being not too unpelasent to everyone. Second time around I'll usually pick the more fun ouf full on good and full on evil and play it to the max.

I depends on what kind of character I'm playing, my own character in Oblivion is a thief, but not a murderer. On the other hand I do have on phychotic killer mage, a knight, another thief. Actually I have characters based on all the characters from the Webcomic 8-Bit Theater. Sometimes I'm evil sometimes I'm not, it just depends.

I act as i would have done in that situation if my balls somehow instantly became the size of death stars (if things go bad I can just reload the save so I don't really have reason to not be stupidly ballsy)
so I'm mostly nice on the big things unless you happen to be kinda alone and have some nice goodies.

I go pretty hard on the role-playing, always playing as one of my own characters.

Usually this means dying a lot, not giving a damn about politics in the game and charging head-first into any given situation, usually with a melee weapon.

I usually play a kind of neutral good character. Except for in Oblivion where many of my characters were lawful evil. I tried a chaotic evil character in Fallout 3, and it got to the point where the only dialog option he'd need was "Maim, kill, burn! MAIM KILL BURN". I think I ran out of NPCs on that one.

I don't really bother trying to kill people. what do i really get out of it? a bounty, some gold and a bunch of guards after me. always ends with me going to jail or dying

By the end of the game, everything is dead and/or stolen. MINE. I used to only play as the paragon of light and all that was good though.

If there's a conversation option along the lines of "Is there a reward involved?", I'm selecting it. If persuasion fails, I love to steal shit from people whom I've just killed (I depopulated Rivet City just to get everyone's stuff, FYI).

I'm generally good-aligned, but if I'm fighting against someone opposed to that or just someone being a bozo (i.e. someone being less than nice because they think they can get away with it), I'm usually fairly brutal on them.

Not sure what I am.
I kill people, but for the quests (Morag Tong in Morrowind), I steal shit (whenever), but I'm never really evil, unless it's Fable, then MURDER TOWNS!

I get a little reckless with my unimaginable powers, so a few innocents die in the process. None of it's intentional though.

If I can find a duster/cool coat (bonus points for fedora and cool glasses/goggles) in game for my character to wear, I will have the world think I'm a good guy, fighting for them. But then... my character snaps, shoots up/slaughters a town or whatever he may come across, and from then on, will always spend a good amount of time debating whether to help the NPC, or kill them.

I do most quests out of my own selfishness. Will helping out this town help me out later? Will I get some special stuff? That is general what i think while playing RPGs. Though they don't always give me that kind of freedom. For example:

So, during the main quest I met a robot called Yes Man. He told me that i could become the head of New Vegas with his help. He also told me to secure alliances with various factions for my up-coming coup. So I thought that I could take over Vegas for myself and secure the NCR in power with me(I didn't really like Ceaser's Legion). So I went about securing alliances a building up rep with the NCR. And then when i went back to Yes Man to tell him I had secured alliances with the people I needed I got a notice saying that if I continued on my current path everyone would turn against me. That was a bit of a kick in the balls and ruined my grand plans for the Mojave Wasteland.
