I usually don't mind other people cursing, but about a year ago I decided stopped cursing. *shrug*

Couldn't give less of a fuck.

I tend to moderate my language when I'm around a friend of the family who happens to be a priest, but otherwise I swear quite regularly. Both for emphasis and to relieve frustration.
I see no reason to keep a section of my vocabulary locked up for special situations.

You know what annoys me?
Egads.
I can't take it when people say or write stuff like "gosh" or "dang".
If you want to use a "power-expression" for emphasis either go all the way and curse properly, or use some more sophisticated vocabulary to express your thoughts please. Swearing won't harm anyone.
Well, gosh darn it all. I guess you showed me, you dang nonce. I will try to spice up my language a bit more from now on. You square. :D

OT: Eh, I prefer not to swear. I just like not to offend people and I like to be polite. Swearing is not typically helpful to either one, so I tend to avoid it.

Please say it correctly. They are sentence enhancers not swears i.e. "Fuck those god damn mother fucking, cock sucking, sons of bitches." See isn't that more interesting than "I dislike that group highly"?

Also while we're on the subject wh does no one use "Father Fucker"? It's always "Mother Fucker".

Normally I avoid using profanity unless it is a situation that calls for it(getting hit in the throat with a baseball), or for comedic purposes.

I don't give a damn about swearing, in all honesty.

It's not indicative of a poor vocabulary, necessarily, as demonstrated in the video of Stephen Fry discussing swearing which I'm sure will have been posted earlier in the thread.

Obviously having control over your language is important, though. It shouldn't be inseperable from your normal pattern of speech, simply for ease of modifying said speech for situations in which swearing is not acceptable.

I use it around my friends and my boyfriend, but I don't swear in front of my family at all.
I think it's easier like that, also, because I often work around children, it's easier to be able to switch it on and off so you dont swear when a kid drops something on your foot.
