Specifically concerning his marital status. Would you prefer it how it was a few years ago, with him and MJ in a happy marriage, or do you like it now that that's all been pissed away in a deal with the devil?

Personally, I prefered the married Spider-man. A relatively stable and happy couple is was something rare in comics, and Pete and MJ provided a nice example of it. It probably would have lead to some decent character development.

Well, that's all but a lost opportunity now, so what do you think? Do you like the classic couple of Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson? Or do you like the single Spider-man better?

[sub]I tried to keep my anti-Joe Quesada bias to a minimum in this post, I really did, but I have a feeling some of it may have got through.[/sub]

If I have to choose, I'll have him dating girls as a teenager like in olden times. Him going out superheroing and MJ staying at home worried got old.

I like him as a teenager. Especially in the Ultimate Universe.

Well, a smart mouth that is dying to be with MJ. So I guess Having his sights set for her, but not tied down yet.

Medium rare, with an occasional touch of A1 sauce if I'm feeling slutty

Er, I mean I don't really care either way.

Either him dating lots of girls or married to MJ , cause honestly the story of him always chasing MJ and failing at it was just plain irritating.

Unless she dies a horrible death sending Spiderman into a emotion filled rage and using his spider powers for new brutal ways to defeat criminals. Yes a Anti Hero Spidey would be very nice !

It's odd, but I started reading comics when the clone saga was out. So, actually, I grew up enjoying those, even though they are regarded as some of the worst stories in Spider-Man. Hell, they regarded as some of the worst in the entire comic industry. So I prefer the Scarlet Spider, all the way. His costume was better, too. Less cluttered.

I like my Spider-Man making sense.

Neither 616 nor Ultimate Spider-Man really satisfied me there (see: Brand New Day, Ultimatum), so I've stopped reading both.

...

Well, I guess I like my Spider-Man aged with a teenage daughter, then. Spider-Girl <3

I also like my Spider-Man animated with a good sense of humor and reinvented villains, so there's also the now canceled Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon.

In short... I don't care if he's married or not, as long as the writers and editors respect the series' continuity and character integrity.

I liked him being in a happy marriage. I mean, come on we got one of the worst story arcs ever because one dumbass editor didn't like the marriage.

I loved the Clone Saga.

Sure, it had its share of bad stories, but overall it made a lot of sense. It picked up loose threads from the past and expanded on them in ways that modern "events" don't even dare dreaming of doing.

Plus, Ben and Peter fighting side by side was always awesome.

There are enough single / dating characters in comic books already, and precious few marriages. Spidey and MJ can still have disagreements, interesting story lines, etc. without rehashing high school drama forever. The only thing better would be if they had a daughter.

I love him roasted, with some salt on it. You know spiders are tasty, and they smell nice when cooked too...

Oh wait, we are talking about Spider Man from the comic! I was thinking on something else...
I really do not care about Spider Man anymore, actually any Marvel movie, well actually most movies...
But other than that I would say single.

Exactly. It wasn't the premise which was boring, it's that writers didn't know what to do with it. They could have had stories focusing on corruption in the acting business that would involve both Peter and MJ, or other stories which involve more than MJ just getting worried or playing a fairly passive role.

Never read the comics but I prefer the never-married and eternally pursuing his love interest version.

I liked Spidey better married. I always felt that was a great angle, better to have a more mature spidey, especially with him being as old as he is. It's better to have a character mature and grow along with the readers, and that was something I had liked about him, the progression he went through. Of course, it was also great having Scarlet Spider as well. He could have taken over for the single spider if people wanted, and as noted about, they were awesome when they teamed up.

By the name of Miguel O'hara and from 89 years in the future. Just kidding, I like him married to MJ and exposed to the public, I reckon they could have milked him being out in the open for a lot more.
