Poll: How do you see virgins?

A virgin can be a number of things, in my old high school it was because people were either stuck up or had some other reason to never even consider sexual activity, regardless of the relationship and how safe it was.

I think most virgins, the ones who are trying atleast just havn't found the chance yet, unless your actively trolling for booty sex is a random kind of thing, you may just not meet a viable person often.


They also tend to have a certain kind of personality that limits their chances, like me for example -.-. I get along great with people once I get near them, but I just don't ever seek out social gatherings, so my circle is very small since I graduated.

To me, a virgin that is my age is just someone who is probably more sexually frustrated than I am, or a lot less now that I think about about. Either one or the other, but there's no way a virgin shares my sex drive.
Other than that, I don't really judge virgins at all, unless they are VERY old, then either they're a saint or a super creep.

Well I don't think they're pathetic, that's kind of harsh given there are numerous reasons for not having sex and only horniness and peer pressure as reasons FOR having sex.

I probably could have had sex by now (recently 20), but tbh I try not to pursue it too much and if I feel that it really gets to me or that I'm just trying to get rid of my v card then I think I will have become everything I hate about humanity.

This is probably the biggest reason for me. I don't like to be intimate (in any form of relationship) unless I'm with someone I really trust. The problem is that there aren't a whole lot of people out there I'd trust that deeply to pursue a relationship.

Also, my religion sort of prohibits me from having a sexual relationship. I'm a very skeptical kind of person and I guess you can say my faith in religion is by far outweighed by my want of Reason. Another way to plainly say this is that I don't really believe, I'd rather know so the whole bit about me being prohibitted doesn't play much against me, trust however does.


Edit: Just to add to the conversation, what if the virgin was over 40 years old? How would your view be?

If you wanna wait because of religion, sure that is fine but if you love the person or girlfriend or whatever and you cant wait, I find that religion shouldnt get in the way of sex because that is unfair to both people...

also I am one...and I aint got no problem and im just waiting until I find "The one" (cheesy I know >_<) and then I dont care about relgion or anyhing that gets in the way of our love...

I just see them as someone who hasn't had sex yet.

It isn't something I really ask about. If it comes up later somehow and they want to talk about it, or want to let me know for some reason or another - then that's fine. Other then that, what they do or don't do in their bedroom, is none of my business.

I like the idea of someone who saves it for marraige. (or at least true love) I still hold on to my idealistic teenage beliefs about sex being something to hold in high regard. Sure its easy to get, but it wont mean as much if its easy all the time.

Assuming the person is of consensual age, then if it is their choice to wait until they meet the right person then all the power to them (or whatever other reason they have). I really don't care about anyone else's sexual exploits/history except for my significant other's (it's only fair to be concerned about possible infections).

It depends on why they're a virgin. I find the whole abstaining until marriage or even treating virginity as something special to be extremely pretentious.

For the sake of argument I've tried to refute that, but I can't think of a single thing that makes willed ignorance virtuous.

If you can really find no reason why willed ignorance is not in some cases virtuous, please promptly go to the nearest rail road and lay down on the tracks until you are no longer ignorant of what it feels like to have multiple tons of steel plowing into you.

OT: Pointless question for me. I don't give a fuck about someone's sex life unless I am currently having sex with them, in which case they are not virgins.

So, it is likely that many here are virgins and many are not. The question isn't whether or not you ever had sex but rather how do you view someone who is a virgin? The type of person isn't in question because they are how you would image a virgin to be, whatever that might be. This thread is not meant to bash on virgins (I am one myself) but is analyze people's perspectives on sex.

To make this a little easier, I've included a poll.

The type of person can't be however because not having had sex is seperate when ever person alive at some point was a virgin in their life and therefore have no preset attributes, except possibly being human

Regarding the sex lives of others, I don't really give a shit one way or another, to be honest. Virgin, non-virgin, what the feck ever, all's that concerns me is whether you're an asshole or not.
