Beyond being bastards in their father's eyes? I have no real view of them. Their just people. Short people, but people. Except for when they're not.

I'm generally good after I've gotten to know them.

That sort of applies to everybody though. I treat them as I would anybody else.

P.S. I originally thought this was about the race in games (with the mining and the beards etc.) DERP!

Dwarfs? Man, I view everyone less than 6' as being subhuman.
Then the apocalypse came and we all laughed as your higher food requirements lead you to die in agony while the rest of us waited in our tiny holes to devour your oversized corpse.

Subhuman depends on your point of view.

I feel that the creation of Tyrion Lannister was a win for Dwarves everywhere. Seriously, he should do an "it's fine, don't take people's bullshit" PSA.

In all honesty, other than the initial thought of "awesome..." I don't think of them any differently. However I did see this dwarf in like... a grey T-shirt and slacks with a skinhead and tattoos. Had this massive scar on his face. That was pretty terrifying, that guy would fuck your shit up if you went all condescending "little people" to him.

From The old Pastament, The Book of Midgets/Midgits

1In the days when the Flying Spaghetti Monster combed the Bobby Mountain,
2He looked upon the Earth and saw that the land was devoid of chosen subjects.
3In His awesome Noodly Hugeness, the FSM cast his Noodly Appendage forth over the Bobby Mountain and said with a noodly growl, 4″Send forth my beloved subjects!
5Be they small and capable of head butting tall people in the groin.
6Let them be capable of acting as mobile beer holders. 7Let them be cute and cuddly, 8and let them be capable of riding many a good winner at the races?. ?

9And into the world the Midgets did come.
10For they were indeed extremely cute and cuddly. 11The bald midgets were sometimes confused by the FSM with sticks of roll on deodorant. 12This amused the FSM greatly, 13who named the bald midgets ?The Rexona? or ? The Rexonii? (plural).
14But extremely cute and cuddly they were.

The Midgets are his chosen people, the blessed ones, touched the most by his noodley appendages.

How do I view them? I look down! (trololol)

OK but seriously it depends what you mean, as people? Well, as people. In a romantic way though it's something I find unattractive (plus, you know, health issues and so on).

They're people like I'm a person and everyone else is a person and I don't balk at seeing them in the street or think it's weird or anything. Yeah, they're just people.

Don't view them as anything, the last thing they want is to be pointed out for being different.

I thought this was about fantasy, in which case i see them as silly drunks with long dirty beards and even dirties jokes. As for real life.. I never met one, but if i did i would treat them as any other person, maybe i would stare at them a second or two longer than usual.

As people who are dwarves.
It seems pretty simple to me. You see them, take in the dwarf thing, and promptly stop giving a fuck.
Why would it make a difference, it isn't really important.

Are we talking about Tolkien style fantasy dwarves? Or are we talking about little people in real life?

Fantasy dwarves are awesome. I've always appreciated their straight-forward, grim and gritty, unrefined approach to life. Fantasy geeks are almost always fixated on the prim and proper nature-loving elves. Don't get me wrong, elves are cool (in a more obvious Legolas-from-the-LOTR-movies kind of way), but there's a certain down-to-earth (shameless pun) coolness to be found in characters like Gimli.

Then again, with characters like Aragorn, you get the best of both. The mysterious and suave nature of the elves combined with the gritty and earthy style of the dwarves, which is why the Aragorn-style character is almost always my favorite fantasy character archetype.

Of course, if we're talking about real life little people, then then the above is just fantasy geek rambling and I say that "dwarves" are just regular people, only smaller. No big deal. Although, I do find the way they talk a bit disconcerting. It sounds like an adult voice...but not... It sounds like projecting a rock concert through speakers that are too small.

Small ppl i would be better phrasing, and i view them just as normal people.

Must suck tho having to buy kids clothes and never reaching a top of a counter without any support.

Dwarves The mythological kind i really despise tho, mainly because they have obnoxiously amounts of facial hair and speak with a overdone fake scottish? accent and usually silly lore like why would they only live in caves, so they eat beetles and bats to survive then.. and are always strong fighters?(sure he can swing a greatsword/axe like it was made of paper), damn Neanderthals.. Granted bioware has finally started changing the stereotype but the damage has been done, Halflings make more sense and are much better.

By tilting my head down slightly.

In all seriousness, they're just other people. It's like race or gender, why look at someone differently for being itty-bitty?
