I'm at about 9/10 but this is difficult cos there are different types of heavy
For example, I love metalcore and even within this sub-genre there are different levels of heavy. Same with deathcore; I love Suicide Silence but Whitechapel are a bit too heavy for me. I like a lot of stuff that's heavier than Slayer and Anthrax but I don't like Cannibal Corpse so yeah... rant over

I like some Slayer, so I can go as high as 9, though my preference will fall a bit lower.

10 and 11 are unlistenable and barely qualify as music.

Well I like all of those bands bar the last so I'd say I am willing to go to 10. 10 is my cut off point for heaviness in music. Although I do listen to non heavy music like say BeeGees and Blondie and what not if it comes on.

For the most part, 4-10. Carpathian Forest and Bloodbath being about the heaviest that I listen to, though my absolute favorite is still Iron Maiden.
I'd say on average, I listen around the 6-8 range, though it's not rare to see me go beyond that.

Lies, all lies. Your opinion on music, and EVERYONE's opinion on music are ENTIRELY subjective.

Rap and Hip-Hop for example, in my opinion, are unlistenable and barely qualify as music.

My music is between 3 and 8, though do like Mastodon's Leviathan which is probably a 9, but that's a rare case.

I go beyond 11. If 11 is Anal ****, which isn't a serious band, then I go beyond it.

5 to about 9.5, because I like SlipKnot. Any heavier than that is a bit too far. but I also like Led Zeppelin.

Depends on my mood. Sometimes I like stuff like Smash Mouth, sometimes Shelter Red, and right now, Mundtot... look them up, they are BADASS.

I prefer anything from 8 and below. Some of Nightwish's stuff might end up at about a 9 and, were it not for the lyrics, some of Skillet's stuff could end up being there, too. However, as a Christian band, I have a hard time categorizing Skillet above 8.

Just as an example.

Edit: Fixed it to the better version of Monster.

This scale's only for use with rock/metal genres.

That said, 6-10, though there are exceptions below 6. Anything over 10 is just annoying.

And some people are exceedingly defensive about the music they like.

-3 Your number 1 was too much like rock for me. The most harsh music I like is queen.

I like 30s-40s jazz and 80s-90s pop.

Well, it does have negative potential if someone says "Its not music", although he means "In my opinion its not music". But I have to agree, everybody has their taste of music.

Let's not go offtopic any further. :)

You know "The Fray"?

Minus two.

EDIT: Well, that's not true.

The heaviest song I have on my iPod is this:

Alongside The Fray, Natasha Bedingfield, David Crowder, Akira Yamaoka, etc. Make of that what you will.

I spend most of my time between 7-11...Dillinger Escape Plan and Mastodon are about as heavy as I get. #11 on your list is just noisy garbage.
