Poll: How It's Made: Boring or Awesome?

So for various unimportant reasons I've been given a large supply of vicodin (pain medication) and I have a lot of free time at home. Currently I'm spending it playing around with my DS and watching TV, and for the past 2 hours I've been watching 'How It's Made'.

I don't know if it's just the fact that I'm high on opiates and caffeine, but this is the greatest show ever. I spend the entire show in dumbfounded amusement saying things like, "I always WONDERED how they made cotton swabs!"

Am I being boring, or is this just a really interesting show?

It depends on what's being made. Playdough? Hell yeah I want to see how that's made. Window blinds? not so much. Overall, it ends up being more interesting than it is boring, so no, you are not lame for watching it.

both. just depends. it's definitely not a show i actively look for, but it's often entertaining when i do watch it.

I really do like watching the show, the steps required and the awesome equipment they have is pretty entertaining.

I like it when they make big or unique things: Plane propellers, canoes, pottery, hydrofoils...

It's a great show (though I wouldn't mind removing the puns). It's almost at least mildly interesting ,even when they show how stuff like pencils are made. A typical show to have on in the background in my parents house during Christmas etc. when the whole family is gathered.

The show will put me in a trance, all I can think about is how the machines are coded and how they were made to work so efficiently.

I don't look for it, but when there isn't anything on I end up watching it. It is actually quite mesmerizing when I can get into it.

It's usually pretty groovy.

There was a knockoff called G.I. Factory or something. It was pretty much How It's Made, but far less compelling. Except when they tested a minigun. That was pretty cool.

hehe. I have to be off my meds, and in a happily blank state of mind to watch it all day. But just watching it and being entertained can happen at any time.

I think my favorite thing ever was when they made pots. Watching sheets of metal get spun around and made into the things was goddamn amazing.

Honestly I'm always surprised how many things are seemingly manufactured here in the States. I know our iron industry collapsed but its good to see we still have SOME manufacturing jobs available.

that show is great; i curse the day they decided to shift to that younger-sounding announcer though, the original was so much better IMO.

but yeah, education made interesting= pure awesome.
