Poll: How many games do you buy each year?

I am poor and can only usually buy about 3 games a year. If that even. But as soon as I get a job, I'll try to buy more.

When I was poor I actually bought more games.
Of course you have to keep in mind that you could get a used ps2 game for $5 in those days and what I couldn't afford was a rental service. It was much cheaper to just buy a game a month.
Now I usually rent to see if it's worth buying and as it turns out, there are very few worth buying, especially for $60.

Hmm.... that's a great point. Should look into that.

I usually average about 1 per season that really perks my interest. Anything else I will throw onto a Birthday/Christmas list for multiple years until the price drops low enough that some relative picks it up for me, or I find it for ~$10 in a bargain bin 5 years later.

Since I work at GS I can't really afford to buy new games on the regular. it's looking increasingly likely that New Vegas will be the only new game I buy in 2010.

It varies depending on what is being released and what cheap games I can think of getting. Usually about 9-10.

About one new game every one or two months, so on average 8 new games a year. Add in second-hand and retro titles and it goes up to about double to triple that number.

Closer to 20 games per year, of which maybe one or two games at full price. PC games depreciate so fast and between Steam Specials and cheap mailorder, there's too many good deals.

So the vast majority here buys fewer than 10 games a year?! I don't expect any game to last me more than a month.

Hmm.... that's a great point. Should look into that.

I think most of the services give you a discounted month so it?s worth a try but it?s not for everyone. I?m on gamefly, and while they (over time) give you good deals if you want to keep a game, it can take a long time (sometimes a week) before you get a game back after sending one in. I know a couple of friends tried it and got fed up, but for my needs it suits me pretty well and I buy far fewer games on a whim: which usually led to disappointment, especially when prices started going up.

How many games I buy? I only buy one or 2 a year, and I never buy from EA.
