5-7.

It includes either one or two major AAA releases, and the rest are things that I buy over the sale. I get limited to a budget of about £25 for the sales, but I end up buying more recent titles anyway, so its only a few games per year.

I usually see about 3 games a year that I actually want to get. However the realistic answer to this is how cruel are the Steam sales are each year.

I resolved to stop buying AAA games on launch a long time ago (my last one was Portal 2) so none of those usually.
I usually buy a handful of indie titles, usually around the Steam sales, that's about the only gaming I really do on PC.
I do buy quite a few used or discounted new PS3 games a year, lets say somewhere between 7-10
And the number of retro or older games I buy usually tends to be somewhere between 5 and 6

Alltogether you could average about 20ish games per year if we're counting everything.

None whatsoever. It's an expensive hobby that I can no longer afford. Any new-ish games I get to play are either gifts, freebies, or borrowed from someone else. Other than that, I'm forever playing retro games emulated.

I'm the first to vote none. Yay me, I guess.

It really depends, stuff I'm actually interested in and I will play right away I'd say 2-4 a year, though I will say that I never pay full price. Previously this used to be higher, but with a surge of more and more F2P it's pretty easy to go almost an entire year without buying a game.
So while I do buy 2-4 that I'm actually interested in/play/finish, I do have a lot of impulse buys during sales and I don't get around to play that game for a year+. With the amount of random impulse buys I honestly could probably go the rest of my life without buying another video game...though that's probably not going to happen. When I go to my profile steam says I have 937 games, I'm probably only every going to finish a quarter of those.

Up until this year it was an obscene number, thanks in no small part to steam sales. But now its slowing down due to me already owning most of the games that are put on sale. I don't know if I should be proud or ashamed... I'm thinking ashamed.

It all depends on the year and the games that get released/go on sales.
This year I maybe bough 2 mobile games and a maximum of 3 PC games.
Last year I bough over 20 games. This year's games are mostly shit and/or too expensive for what they offer so I didn't really care enough for them to buy them.

Well, it depends. I tend to get 3-4 full price/ pre-order games every year, but that is across both Indie and AAA. This year I pre-ordered The Walking Dead Season 2, Transistor, Borderlands: PS, and Dragon Age: Inquisition, but last year, the only game that I can remember pre-ordering was Bioshock: Infinite, so it varies. Otherwise, I get at very large amount. Between Steam sales, bundles and gifts, my Steam library has risen by about ~50 games within the last year or so(?), although most of those games remain uninstalled, at least unless there are Steam cards to be had.

A lot- a lot a lot a lot.

Possibly too many. I impulse buy on Steam regularly, and will quite often drop my entire fortnightly "entertainment" budget on a game.

I got my Steam account in 2009, and have 315 games on it- then there's retail games, and misc downloadables that aren't on Steam

One or two a year usually, if we're talking AAA titles. Maybe a <£10 indie title or two as well, if there's anything that catches my eye. Certainly it's a great, great, rarity if I spend more than £100 a year on games. In fact the primary reason I use this site is to pick up pre-production info on games so that I'm reasonably informed as to the content and quality of a title prior to release - that way I can select ahead of time which games I'll be shelling out the hard cash on.

If I only count full price, retailer games, about 5-7.
If I count downloadable and bundled ones, over 20 seems right...

Well, i'm up to 324 games on steam now, I guess I tend to buy 4-5 games a month but then they tend to be at pretty low prices like £5 to £10 with the occasional higher value purchase like £20 or £30 but never more than that.

Full price: Hardly any at all. I used to pre-purchase and buy games early before, but these days I avoid that. I don't feel it's worth the cost and I've been let down so often.
Average price: A few, but not many. Those are when full priced games I really wanted finally drops in price. 1-5/year I reckon.
Sales/bundles: lollikeallofthem. *stares at Steam library with 170 games, most bought this year*

full price? maybe one, MAYBE. it has to be from a developer I really like and I really want it. (South park I bought day one, Witcher 3 I have on pre-order...but I got a pretty good discount since I own both the prequels)

including steam sales/humble bundles/greenmangaming and other sites?

LOLOLOL

saying 50-60 wouldn't be an exaggeration....seriously, with how cheap I get pc games, I buy them left and right.

279 games in my steam library, ~60 at GoG account, and a solid 10 sitting on my shelf right now...oh and probably 20ish on origin.

If we are talking about full priced ($60) games then about 3 or 4 a year.

If we are talking about full priced games and games from STEAM or GOG that are sold at a huge discount then anywhere between 11 and 20.
