Poll: How many posts had you made before making your first thread?

Greetings Escapists.

So, I've seen a few threads about "What was your first post?" and "What was your first thread?" but none about how long it took you to go from venturing an opinion to posing a question. At the time of writing this, I'm around the 400 post mark, and yet this is my first thread, as I felt a bit nervous of starting one.

The reason for this was the fact that because I post at work, and therefore am not online for extended periods, starting a thread seemed like starting a conversation with someone and then not listening to the answer (which seemed rude). But since the Escapist is a global community, elements of which are collectively online 24/7, I have since realised that my preconception was in fact a misconception - and hence made this thread.

Now, the poll is self-explanitory, but the discussion value I want to add is this: How long did it take you to make a thread, and what (if anything) held you back?

About 500, I think. I can't actually remember what my first topic was, so it might have been earlier than that. My first topic I remember was at around 500 though.

What held me back is my lack of being able to come up with discussion topics. I'm also passionate about very little, so having an actual debate with people is hard for me.

Few hundred, if I recall correctly. Years ago, though; I can't remember much about what I posted then.

At 91 posts and counting and still havent made a thread, mainly because I have an idea, go to write it then spot it's already there in one form or another. Dang its hard to be original on the interwebs

My first post was my first thread. [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.84149-Poll-Human-Too-Much-Robot#1191607]

As you can see, my style of posting has evolved quite well over the many months of my stay here.

Well over a thousand posts were extant before I got around to creating a thread myself, though I've never actually asked a question as the threads I've created aren't intended to provoke discussion (though a couple have, to a limited extent). Which makes sense, as the only threads I make are album reviews of obscure music.

A lot. I've only made threads to A) Help with homework, B) Make people not think depressing thoughts for a bit, or C) Show off the badass Tex fight scene in Red vs Blue. C and B can be considered the same thing if you want.

Welcome to the fun!

OT: I think my first was made after 100 or so posts. It was a doozy of a thread, too.
Got me all the 'thread views' badges except the 100,000 views one.
But my thread making has declined greatly, as of late.

Over five hundred, I think.

Call me a fascist, but I think the community would benefit from imposing a rule whereby you could only start a thread once you had attained 200 posts. It would give new members time to learn the ropes [or get banned, as the case may be]. Quality control, if you know what I mean.

30 posts and it didnt end well. I didnt make one till my 30th because some of the comments of my first few posts hadent been received well(Looking back at them I realised I was one stupid ass back then) and because I used to think only cool people were allowed to make threads(I dont mean that other people couldent make threads just that you werent supposed to until people liked you.)

Your side-bar says you joined nearly a year ago, I wouldn't say that made you new...
Well, yeah, I'm not new, I guess, but I only post rarely.
