I buy about 1-3 games a month. I don't have a usual source to buying games, but I occasionally support a couple of smaller local stores. I rarely grab copies from Steam, but I do support PSN by buying a well received PSN-title almost monthly. I buy only the most interesting titles when they arrive as new full priced games, but I try to find them at cheaper prices (not the 65-69 euros like most stores have them around Finland, but below 60 euros). I love game sales, especially on a payday!

Seeing as how I'm jobless and stingy, I buy a game once in a blue moon. Namely when I go completely mad and think it would be nice to spend money I barely have on crap I don't need.

I'm really really bad when it comes to buying video games, despite my lack of disposable income, I manage to stay true and get the new release games I want either the day of or within 2 weeks of release. To top it all off I buy used games like a machine and sometimes buy a copy of a 360 game I own for PS3 already or vice versa for achievements/trophies and such.

It's quite horrible......

I lie somewhere between Less than once a month and Once a month.
I always look for bargains, and hardly ever buy newly released games. This way I don't have to spend that much money on games.

There are a few games I plan to get as soon as they get out, like Black Ops. I cannot avoid paying full price for that.
However, I just found a supercheap Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 on a Norwegian netshop. Cost me only 24?. :>

Once or twice a year. I don't have much time. I don't have much money. I play a lot of freeware games (Cave Story, Urban Terror, Nexuiz).

Depends. What comes out, how bored im with my current games and how rich i feel. I can play 1-2 games for 6 or more months if they are good. Plus, not like there is whole lot of good RPGs/strategies being released.

I'd say i average at around 1 game/2 months over year time, sometimes little more if i grab some discounted older titles along the way.

About once every two week, during summer it goes up and during this, the school year, it declines as I can't find the time to breath let alone game.

Less than once a month, I guess. I only buy games that I really want to get, otherwise I play them at a friend's place. Although if I had more money, I'd buy them more frequently.

Ooh... really not very often. I only buy games if I really want them. Before I got Reach, the most recent thing I'd got was Mass Effect 2, and even then I think it might have been a birthday present. This is mostly because of my capacity to be continuously entertained b y very few games, no matter how many times I've played them before. Perhaps this is because they are very high quality (would you guys agree this about Homeworld, Halo series, Mass Effect 1+2 and Metroid Fusion?)

Games, clocking at 60-80$ as opposed to 40-50$ a few years ago, are too expensive for me now. :(

I haven't bought a new game in over a year. The last game I bought was Tom Clancy's Endwar for xbox and that was only $44. Awesome game.

A friend of mine recently exclaimed, "You spend $180 a month on video games?!' to which I responded, "No I don.... um, I have important business to attend to. Later!"

It is really bad in the Fall, but when I look at that figure, it seems particularly high. In the Summer though, I probably buy more like 1 a month. I blame the game companies and their stupid release schedule.

Less than once a month, but very often at full price because it's those games that tend to get massively hyped and my brother just can't wait. The last one I bought myself and not because my brother wanted it was BlazBlue CS. This was a couple months ago.

Less than once a month.

There are some exceptions, this month I got Dawn of War 2 and Chaos Rising and last month I bought Demon's Souls but Demon's Souls was the first game in 5 months.

Very rarely. I mostly rent my games.
Same here. Before I started renting, I would buy about one every month or so but since I started renting, I only buy a few a year: the ones I know (or am pretty damn sure) will be good.

Personally, I really would like to buy games as often as I can, like whenever a high-profile release (that I've been eyeing) comes out.

As reality would have it though, being in a 3rd-world country SUCKS BEANS. I have weekly living expenses of less than 40 US dollars (food, room and board, and gas for my car are all taken care of), which means at best, I can buy a game every 2 weeks IF I save my money, never eat out and stay home on the weekends.

At least Christmas is coming up. Say what you will about Filipinos, but at least they get really generous around Christmastime.
