I used to watch samurai jack on and off growing up, and last night I came across this glorious episode/clip... for some reason I had completely forgotten about it up until that point:

So escapees, what are some of your moments (it can be from damn near anything, doesn't have to be a cartoon or tv show) that you'd come across years to decades later and think "how the hell did I forget about this?!?"

hopefully some of you buggers remind me of other moments to jog my memory

Heh, heh... why is it always old cartoons...

A couple of years ago I was in a toy store with my kid and we were looking at this figure of a winged horse, and I remembered something from a cartoon when I was a child (in the early 1970's) all I could remember was there was a little boy with a statue like the one we were looking at, and he'd take the statue and say "(something) horse of marble white, take me on a magic flight" and the statue would turn in to a full sized flying horse and they would go have an adventure together...
I hit up the search engines when we got home and it turned out I wasn't just hallucinating, it was a real cartoon Luno the White Stallion, and even ancient as it is there are a couple of episodes on youtube that I could watch with my kid!

I apparently forgot my best friend. I say "apparently" because I still don't really remember her, but everyone else does and I feel weird bringing it up. The story here is I went to elementary school with her, and we used to play during recess all the time, along with some other girls. In sixth grade I went to a magnet program at a different school, but decided to drop it for reasons I won't go into here. So I went back to middle school with all my elementary school friends in seventh grade... and the first day of orientation, some chick I don't recognize sits down with us and starts talking with everyone like she's always been there. Naturally, I politely ask her name. She says I should know it. I tell her we've never met. She says we've known each other since fourth grade. Everyone backs her up. My friends may have all been replaced by mole people.

...But seriously, I have no memories of this chick before seventh grade, but all of my other friends still bring up memories of the things we did in elementary school. It's the weirdest thing. I still don't have the first idea what to make of it, but I apparently completely forgot one of my best friends over the course of a single year.

To me it would be this song-

It was one of my favourite songs in the early 00's and sometime later, I started to remember it but I couldn't remember the song title and the band who created it. Needless to say it took a while finding the titles and name to that above song!!

hah it's always a great feeling when you can take that small shred of evidence in your head and google/youtube is able to give ya the goods.

funny thing about reading thi, that line reminds me of watching dragon tales as a kid, where the two kids would grab that magic item thingy and say "I wish, I wish, with all my heart, to fly with dragons, in a land apart" and they would get transported to that dragon land.

your friends either played one awesome prank on you, or that is really odd that you forgot someone in just a years time...I could understand 5 to 10 years later, but jeez..
