It can help. I have a friend who does this kind of stuff and it is great for relieving stress and pain.

I don't know if can help with asthma though...

um the only way it can work is if the brain it is the same concept as a placebo but the odds of it helping with asthema are very very low(the odds of it helping with anything are fairly low) it can help with the stress but other then that I wouldn't do it, because even though hyponosis is real we have no idea what can happen down the line as there was been no long term testing for all you know when you turn 80 you turn into a Manchurian candidate, so yeah I would never do it in a million years.

Give it a shot.
It'll only work if you want it to work though, same with as with all medicines/therapies.

Hypnotherapy is a weird one because while almost everything you hear about it is complete bullshit, there is a tiny sliver of truth hidden in there. Basically, I wouldn't rule it out, but I wouldn't spend very much money on it, either.

Hypno therpay is gaining legitimacy. Just make sure the person you see is licensed in some way so you know he or she is not a quack. There have been many studies which have proven its effectiveness with mental illness. With physical illness the data isn't as convincing.

If you believe in it, it impowers your brain to take healing functions as a priority.. or soe=mething like that. It works though.

A teacher at my School's son was diagnosed with asthma very young with a GP, who prescribed him some inhalers, but after two or three sessions with a hypnotherapist it was completely gone (although he was skeptical as to whether it was asthma in the first place).

I'm asthmatic though, so if you have it and it works, let me know.
