Once you live through a quarter century in the arctic, you will learn to love summer... i have never been too hot... even in abu dhabi...

It is only 9 degrees outside here now...

Ah, my favorite season! Tank tops, shorts, sandals, sunglasses, I love them all. Few things make me as miserable as having to clothe my body with more than the legal minimum of fabric necessary to avoid arrest.

Want to go somewhere? No need to waste time getting bundled up and scraping snow/ice off of your vehicle - just hop in, roll down the windows, open the sunroof, and crank the music up nice and loud. Give me 90 degrees over 75 degrees any day. As if things couldn't get any better, the copious hours of sunlight work magic on my moods.

If only I could live in summer all year long... ;)

We have a saying regarding summer here in Texas; "If I had a house in Texas and a house in Hell, I'd rent out the Texas place and move to Hell where it's cooler."

So yeah...it's hot. It's an experience walking around in shorts after the sun's gone down and it's STILL ninety degrees outside.

But on the plus side...school's out so rush hour traffic is much lighter.

Well, for me, let's just say that it's always summer in San Diego... except when it rains, which it doesn't even when it is...

Other than that, it gives me an excuse to [temporary] wear a bikini...

O man, you have my sympathies

I'm currently dealing with carpenter ants and while it doesn't seem like they've nested in my house (yet) dealing with them is still a pain since they more resistant to traditional ant control methods.
I've dealt with ants like that once, those fuckers were annoying as hell. Like your case they haven't nested in the house though, probably because I live in one of the cooler parts of Aus. You have my sympathy too.
Even if the ants aren't living in your house the nest is probably nearby. Carpenter ants generally don't forage more than 100 yards from the nest. The problem is that the nest is most likely going to be in a tree so can't get rid of the nest as easily as a simple dirt mound.

Some of us are born with natural protection, you haters.

If any of you are Dark Souls fans, Solaire now hates you. And good :p
That's fine, I'm more of a Darkmoon sort of guy anyway.

I am actually amazed at how one sided the poll has gone and which direction, I always complain and get 'grumpy' when its hot and sunny so people at work know how I feel (I must be really annoying to be around during summer), yet only one person has ever agreed with me before.

I've always wondered who lives closest to me in this forum community. I think it might be you.

There's not a single thing I like about it, not even all the female skin on display as I do all my perving in the privacy of my own home. It just means hayfever, the beginning of spider hunting season (yay flesh eating whitetails!) and all the other annoying insects like flies/wasps, high electricity bills and sweating under the Australian sun where the shade is nought but a cruel joke.

I'm just glad I'm in Melbourne and not the NT or Queensland or I probably would've necked myself by now. Winter all the way for me.

Winter is my favorite season, there's nothing more beautiful than a pure, white landscape. But I appreciate summer for warmth and the type of clothing it gets people to wear. I live in Finland, btw.
Oh, also, I seemed to have developed allergies this year.

Well, I already know one forum member who was literally a ~10 minute drive from me... And that's not even including the several I know that live in [Southern] California in general...

Being a true Melbournian you'd also know that there is only one colour in our fashion spectrum - black. Black leather and knee high boots on women. God I love winter.

I have a pretty terrible tolerance for cold, so I start feeling chilly as soon as temperatures drop below 15?C, even with appropriate clothing. On the other hand, I feel quite comfortable in warm weather that would make most people sweat their ass off.

So yeah, gimme summer.

I hate summer in Florida because the humidity is way too high. I walk to work every day so by the time I'm there I'm drenched in sweat and the product in my hair is already threatening to burn itself out.

To make it worse is hurricane season in Florida so I can never be sure if my walk to work will be a nice sunny trip with high humidity, or a trip through a rainstorm with high humidity.

Ugh, Summer is the WORST. Nothing I do outside can't be done during a different, cooler month.

On the one hand, I live in Texas. On the other hand, my city has a river in it. Although, I do work in another city, gas prices are on the rise again, and air conditioning is quite the gasoline waster. Overall, I guess it's fine. Less students in the city being boisterous jackasses on the square and driving terrible (although I suppose that's a bit hypocritical because, while this is my hometown, I am also a student at the university here).

I prefer me some autumn. Cooler but still bright...

Not a fan of the heat at all, but it getting dark at 4pm in the winter is it's own version of lame too.

Come to Australia mate where 40 degree days are normal in summer, half of everyone I know has a swimming pool and no having AC is basically a death sentence. Also spiders that eat birds. At least here in Sydney we have some nice beaches.
