So, I play a LOT of WipeOut HD. I usually use the D-Pad for steering with a lot of L2 and R2 for air brakes. I can use the analog stick for steering but it is just not as precise as I would like.

But I digress, I tried the "motion sensing" control for pitch and steering. It was TERRIBLE, I mean really bad. So bad I have no idea who thought that crap was a good idea. They should be fired forth with. I have used the Wii at a friends house and find it lacking and imprecise. I have used the motion controller for War Hawk and did not like it. The motion controls for Lair sucked all kinds of ass too, even after the so called "patch".

Every game I have used motion controls in have out right sucked monkey choad or have just been lame. Wii Play? Lame. Tossing grenades with the 6 Axis? Lamer. Steering with any of the above? LAMEST!

So who is with me? Who hates motion controls of any kind? Who would like to see them go the way of the Virtual Boy? As in gone forever? I screw them! Let them be gone forever! It is all SO A GIMMICK!!!

I found that motion sensors are unbelievable when it comes to games that benefit from them. In every other occasion, they are extremely annoying.

Wii sports games are great. The bowling in it is the first good bowling game since arcade bowling with a trackball.
Rail shooters, and other console shooters benefit from the wiimote's pointing mechanism.

Playing games that just use motion sensor for the sake of having it is bad. I don't want to waggle my wiimote every time I just could push one button.

I join this at some point.

I dont think that motion controllers are terrible thing. But for now they are.

6 Axis suck because it is lagging. It is like to have a ping 50 in your motions.

Wii is not offering perfect response too. More than that - now I need to buy extra WII MOTION PLUS to get what they promised me to be in first place.

Maybe when they offer Wii Motion Plus Alpha or Wii Motion EX Plus Apha 2 I will change my mind.

See, I think Nintendo KNEW that the Wii kind of sucked and that it needed Wii Motion Plus. But they made it anyway. So then they KNEW they could make all that extra cash off of the Wii Motion Plus add on. Because you KNOW they are going to make craps loads of cash off of that think. Grrrrrrr....pisses me off.

All is well in motion controllers gimmik world until somebody implements the motion control bad and games turn to shit. A lot of examples in this direction come to mind.

BTW, this is not meant to be a Wii bashing thread. I hate motion controls on every system, no matter what. They all suck balls. Maybe they will make far better ones in the future, but for know that are crap.

Your poll is biased. It lacks a button that says "Like them on some games... pass on others."

Personally- I've liked them on pretty much every FPS on the Wii... MP: Corruption, Medal of Honor: Heroes 2, etc. I actually prefer the Wiimote on console FPS. As for other games, Resident Evil 4 is an INFINITELY better game on Wii because of the Wii controls.

When done well motion controls can be great; it made the Wii version of the Godfather a lot of fun for me (especially the part where you use them to 'negotiate' your fee with the people you 'protect' by having the head of your subjects have an intimate conversation with their cash registers). I also like the controls of Mario Kart Wii, as long as you drop the stupid wheel and just use the wiimote only.

Unfortunately, it isn't done well very often.

Motion Controls on the Wii are fine. Developers need to learn not to shoehorn motion controls in for the sake of it and just use the classic controllers instead.
FPS's are fine on Wii so was No More Heroes

What if we like the keyboard and mouse?

Also, this thread sucks.

It's basically the classic, "I H8 THIS DONT U HAET IT 2!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?" except with slightly better grammar.

I created this thread it in a general repose to the "I like/love Motion Controls" population of the world.

I also have far better grammar than the people you are referring too in the latter half of you post.

I don't like using the sixaxis when you have to press other buttons at the same time. Its just too copmlicated trying to think about which way it should be pointing and which buttons you should be pressing on a controler design that dates back 14 years.

Mabey the Wii controler is more suited to motion coz its in 2 parts, i've never tryed it... and i don't intend too.

If motion controls are are core part of the game (i.e. not just wiggling the Wiimote randomly to do something) I find them more fun to use but if I am being competitive then I prefer traditional controls.

I like to take it at a slow step. Like with heavenly sword or uncharted. The game offers some mini games that use the six axis or certain features that require motion control. Then ill work my way up to the extreme one day to maybe.....dragonball z on the wii lol.

You may as well give up gaming now.

motion sensing controllers are the wave of the future

by the next generation all consoles will have them.
