Ok, it's not really a crisis, just a small problem. I was going to go see The Amazing Spiderman today, but my friend cancelled. Should I go see it on my own or would that be weird?

No, infact going on your own is better so you don't have someone asking you stupid questions or making dumb comments... or bumming money off you I mean what the hell I said it would cost ABOUT $25 that doesn't mean you bring EXACTLY $25!

Do you really really want to see it?
If so, go see it on your own, there's nothing weird about going to the movies by yourself.

It is kind of weird to go to the cinema with people, when you think about it. I mean; you sit in the dark for several hours watching a film.

Now if it was some sort of Brechtian experience where you could smoke, drink and have lively conversation with one another then it would make sense but it isn't. If anything it is almost a private communion between you and the film.

I do it all the time. Otherwise, I wouldn't see most of the movies I want to see. Don't worry about it and go if you want to go

I wouldn't say so. I'd do it a lot more if I had the money to. Otherwise it's a case of trying to persuade someone who is extremely reluctant to spend a fortune to see a film they didn't want to in the first place.

Dude it isn't weird. I mean sure it's better to watch a film with a friend by your side but it's not like the other people in the room will think you're werid for watching it by yourself. Even then I have seen people watching a film by him/ her self too.

There are 2 types of films I go to see. Popcorn films and films that I really have to see.

The former is usually a group thing, watch it for a larf, chat about it afterward and whatever else. The latter is something I prefer to do on my own or with one or 2 select friends who would appreciate it. I watched a few films on my own, simply because I knew no one who would appreciate it or enjoy it and it was something I really wanted to watch.

Thats just me. I don't know anyone else who goes to the Moving Pictures on their own. But it doesn't detract from my own enjoyment.

I watched Prometheus recently on my own. I was the only one in for that... it was ludicrously scary just by that fact alone, despite it not doing anything I didn't expect. I just felt panicky during certain sequences.

Do you want to see it?
If you don't then you might as well do something else.
But if you do then just see the damn thing. I don't really like going to the cinema all that much personally but if I want to see a movie I'll go whether my friends want to come or not.

Going to a movie alone is fine. Though unless you really dying to see it asap, you could always reschedule.

Your friends talk to you while watching movies? Mine pass tidbits around. I wanna watch the damned movie not pass some crackly plastic-foil bag of shit down the aisle goddammit!

But yeah watching movies alone=much better experience imo.

Well yeah, I'd do the same if I was trying to watch a movie too, I hate those assholes at the back who laugh loudly at every single joke and shit..

I guess some guys would love to get some 'action' in a cinema though.. weirdos.

I would refer you to MovieBob and his latest spot on The Amazing Spiderman. It might cause you to reconsider. If you tend to agree with his opinion on movies, that is.

But is it weird going to cinema on your own? Heck no! I prefer watching my movies alone. All of them.
