I can't decide between these games:
Persona 3 Portable (PSP)
Magna Carta 2(360)
Pokemon: Fire Red (GBA) (don't judge me! it's for nostalgia)
Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicals (GC)

I need something to last me until Fable III comes out in October (barring any date pushes). Money/availability isn't an issue. I just can't decide on one. I've done as much research as I can into them, but, nothing beats first hand knowledge and the opinions of strangers on the internet. So, can anyone give me some pros/cons of these games? And no, I don't expect any one game to last me 3 months.

(This is my first thread btw, please don't kill me!)

Shut up and wait for Fable 3! Seriously though do you have any other games that can keep you occupied until then? I mean it's going to be just a couple more months, I don't think that I would feel the need to buy a completely new game. I haven't played any one of those or heard much about them, so no advice there. I guess good luck, hope it works out for you...

Oh wait, if you still have Fable II you can play through that again right? Get you into the spirit of it all!

You can also rent games until then, renting a game is what $10? So renting 6 games = a new game.

If you just wanted to know opinions on those games, I apologize for being unhelpful.

Pokemon is the deepest and most fun game out of those, but I'd suggest Pokemon Heartgold/Soulsilver more. In the new ones, you can go to the Kanto area, so you can explore 2 different regions. Not to mention that the Wifi battling is really fun and complex.

If you want to wait until another game comes out and you need a game to kill lots of time, get an RPG. So magna Carta 2 would be recomended

I personally dont like any of those games, if you dont have fallout 3, brutal legend, Mass Effect 1 and 2, Crackdown 2, or Dragon Age get those they have lasted me many playthroughs (except crackdown that one is fun but i have not beat it yet) and could possibly last you three months (Brutal Legand got me 4 playthroughs and many hours of driving around and listening to metal)

Persona 3 Portable. Will give you hours and hours of gameplay, although be prepared to get frustrated at times.

Pokémon Fire Red, despite Pokémon Red being my first Pokémon game, was severely underwhelming for me. I played it on an emulator, so I can't give the full experience, but nostalgia only extends so far and it felt like a heavy step back from the wonders of Platinum. I played it on and off for a while, but ultimately had more fun with Platinum (which has more in-game mechanics and is more aesthetically pleasing).

I haven't played any of the other games you mentioned, but I wouldn't get your hopes up too much for Fable III since they also have a habit of being worse than the hype would have you believe. Hope this helps somehow :[

I've already replayed all my games into boredom, that's why I need a new one X(. 5 plays of Fable II and 3 of Dragon Age + Awakenings (those are just the ones mentioned that I have).

I don't have a DS and really don't want to bother with an emulator, that's why I went with Fire Red for an option. Also, because Red was my first video game way back when, so I thought it was fitting.

Sorry, but, none of those has really appealed to me :\ (except Dragon Age, as mentioned)

You do realize that that Fire Red came out 4 years before Platinum, right?
It'd only be logical thinking that playing a game on a weaker console 4 years younger would be a heavy step back from the current game.

Crystal Chronicles is out. That game tanked hard. I'd say Personal 3 Portable unless you've already played Persona 3, in which case it's less bang for your buck.

I won't kill you because its your first thread, but I've seen a lot of the threads and they never have a Wii game option. So I can never recommend a game.
But it does have FF:CC as a choice. Get that game

Well I don't have a Wii, so it would be kinda weird to ask about a game for it. Not that I'd want a game for it even if I did.

Try to take my comment at face value. A few years ago, that might have been valid. What I'm trying to say is that whilst Fire Red is a good game, if he can get a hold of it, then Platinum is a superior game as it doesn't rely on nostalgia for its major selling point. They're both good games and obviously a game made 4 years later is going to have more potential, but it's probably better to discard nostalgia in favour of a more well rounded game (assuming he's capable of doing so, of course).
