Hey everyone, I recently started a job, and I'm getting my first paycheck today. I'm in desperate need of a new game, which one should I get? Vote on the poll, and then reply as to why you chose that option. I have a 360.

Edit: Left 4 Dead isn't up there because I've already planned on getting it the moment it comes out :p

If you can't afford them all. Go for saints row. It's lots of fun, and will probably last until you can afford something else.

Saints Row 2. It is not only extremely fun but you can continue having a blast with it long after you have completed the main section of the game.

Imagine GTA with all the crap sims-esque stuff removed and bucket loads of fun poured in.

All this sounds great, but is there anybody out there who's played all or most of these games? That would really help.

Ok, uhm, I'm kind of looking for a more reason-filled answer than "just because"..
Sorry, but when I voted your comment initially showed up as '[No Text]' so thats the kind of response I thought we were gunning for. ;)

I'd say CoD just because the drums on Rock Band would annoy me very quickly. I play drums, and the one in Rock band brings back too many bad memories of my old Electric Drum kit.

And I'd put CoD over Saints Row because I think it would last longer with the online community (I can't say from personal experience what the xbox live players are like, but from what I gather it's not as 'mature' as the PC audience), plus its relaxing to just bust out a few Team Deathmatches every once in a while.

Saints Row 2! it'll definatly get you the most out of your money plus it should be abit cheaper than the others!

That was my thoughts behind CoD being so viable a choice, what is the Saints Row multiplayer like?

PS, I haven't played GTA IV, I know, for shame

Silent Hill: Homecoming because it's a Silent Hill game.
Or Mirror's Edge because it looks like a fun and interesting concept. Different from the usual.

Please stick to the ones I listed. I already have Homecoming, and I don't think Mirror's Edge looks any good.

Edit: oops, forgot that other was an option :p

New option : Left 4 Dead. It will probably last longer and be more zombocidal fun than anything else specified abobe. If they don't release it for 360 I pity you. :D Otherwise... Call of Duty World at War seems a decent choice.

I should have mentioned this, but Left 4 Dead isn't an option because I'm buying it the day it comes out :p

If you want one out of the ones listed why did you ask for an 'Other' choice?

Anyway id go for CoD as it seems to be the only one up there that would last.

Can I pick "none of the above"? Hit up a second hand shop and get two good games for the price of one. There are plenty of older, good 360 games out there which you could get on the cheap and they'd probably give you more enjoyment than just a single game.

Failing that, splash out on a PS2 and dive into the almost dauntingly extensive library of games.

I have been planning to buy a PS2 once I have enough for a TV too (poetry ftw)

I second what Ronwue just said. You should download the demo for Left 4 Dead while it's still available so you can give it a try. May want to try the Mirror's Edge demo while your at it to see if you change your mind.

Your other two options are still alright, but I'm going to recommend you don't get Rock Band. It's isn't a gameplay issue, it's a cashflow one. If your going to buy something using your first paycheck, buying the game and all the stuff needed for it will take most of your newly-earned money away from you in a heartbeat.

EDIT: Already getting Left 4 Dead, eh? Good boy...
