So I am upgrading my computer I have about 400 dollars CDN and have enough to pay for the parts. BUT that is if I go with a slightly better video card than the one I have now.
(the video card I have now is shit and can barely run bf2 on minimal settings)

Anyways my question for you at the escapist is should I go with a high end video card that I cant buy for a while longer or go with the cheaper video card?

Whatever, just wash your hands.
dont go really high end since new cards come out all the time, go for a nice midrange card, it will be much cheaper and should last you just as long

Wow you waited a whole 11 minutes for a reply, be more patient.

You should go with a high end graphics card though, it means you'll have to spend less later down the line.
The low end will just become less useful as time goes by.

There is such a thing as budget performance. Check out the Radeon HD 5770, it is a fully DX11 capeable card, and will run very high levels of graphics, for only about $150-170 USD.

For example: Gigabyte HD 5770 [http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125327&cm_re=HD_5770-_-14-125-327-_-Product]

Edit: Oh, and if in a little while you need more ooomph out of it, it's not expensive to just crossfire 2 together and get some serious performance for about $300-340 USD

Aww, I wanted to berate him for his topic bump.... Oh well.

I'd say get one in consideration to your rig as well. Aim for one that will last as long (or longer) than your computer, yet still be able to deliver a quality experience.

As to what your quality rating may be is entirely up to you.

High end cards are usually the way to, that way you don't need to upgrade again as soon.

You post will always be there for a fair amount of time, no need for a bump in such a short amount of time.

How much and what GPU? Specifics would be very useful

Buy either and game in bliss.

Btw your pc has the spec to run a new gfx card right? Give motherboard and psu details for a better recommendation.
