ME! And it was all thanks to This video and its sequel.

I thought it was fun, very well designed, very self mocking and I have yet to get past the bit with the moving death wall of spikes.

I got extremely far in it, then had to format my computer and lost all my progress.

I wouldn't say it beat me, though. More like my computer beat me.

I triumphed and became The Guy. Only on hard difficulty though. That game is right up next to Battletoads and Megaman 2 (on original console, none of that emulator 'savestate anytime' BS) when I consider the toughest 3 games that I've beaten.

After playing through it, I declare it a digital torture device instead of a game.And yes, it got the best of me.

I died a little inside after dying 100+ times going to the left path and finding it was a dead end....and since when do apples fall UP?!

I've made it all the way to the final boss, but can't quite beat it. I absolutely love this game. It's brutally hard, but fair in its own way.

I've become the guy once. It was on medium and my completion time was about 20 hours with about 3500 deaths. Apart from The Guy, the most frustrating part for me was the moving spike corridor in the Ghosts 'n Goblins section.
