Hmm... I'm stuck between Star Wars and Mass Effect.

On the one hand you have the Sith, but on the other you have the Reapers
Then there's the force and biotic powers
Then there's the Twi'lek women and Asari women (?)
So difficult...
I think I'll go with Mass Effect, simply because Earth exists

A tosser between Stargate and Firefly. Fireflies would seem rather boring, but if I could hang out with Serenity and it's crew that would be alright. Otherwise Stargate. Visiting countless worlds with much to offer.

I picked Star Wars but Mass Effect is a very close second. Both would be incredible to live in.

Star Trek. I mean if you live in the Stargate Universe (which is my favourite sci-fi series) then it's practically the same as real life. In Firefly most people live in the old west, in Star Wars you're under the boot of the Empire, and in BSG you live on a cramped ship in constant fear of a Cylon attack.

In the federation things are quite nice with little to no poverty, crime or disease (particularly on Earth).

Other: The Culture series. They're a libetarian, post-scarcity society that actually tries to develop alien races through interaction (unlike the Prime Directive in Star Trek). Sure, it's sort of a metaphor for Western interventionism, but they have almost the perfect society. Also, one of the GSVs would fit every spaceship in the poll options in it.

I'm thinking Altered Carbon, if only for the fact that the technology in that book pretty much allows people to be immortal if they want. "Oh, you died? Well, let's just download your brain into a new body, you pay us a fee, and you'll be all set go."

Out of the options provided, Star Trek.

It's not the coolest universe, but it seems to me like that's the one where regular people lead the most comfortable lives.

Well, I think Star Trek would be the safest, but still a lot of fun. If I were granted "main character status," so to speak, making me 80 times less likely to die of accidents, violence or strange diseases, I'd love to work aboard the Normandy or Serenity.

I was leaning towards Mass Effect before I realized the Star Trek universe offers the promise of limitless replicator food/goods and holodeck whores. So, Star Trek wins by default

Probably Babylon 5 for me. Was going to go with Star Trek but then I realised that I'd almost certainly be killed by a Holodeck.

Slightly off-topic but I think on the flip-side the absolute WORST Sci-fi Universe to live in would probably be Warhammer 40,000.

I am ashamed of the options.
Existing the universe of DUNE would be epic.

I would be torn between the Doctor Whoniverse and the Star Wars Universe. Would we be able to pick species?
