Stargate, because for all I know I am.
That being said, the idea of being able to bridge the gulf between worlds in a single step is poetry.

not sure if it has been mentioned yet, but I personally like the dark bleak world of Blade Runner. Besides, you get cool glowing umbrellas and robotic owls.

Star Trek because it's the one least likely to end in me being annihilated by evil aliens or having to live in an police state.

I don't think the Firefly 'verse would be much fun unless you happened to bump in to the actual crew of Firefly, and how likely is that to happen?

Pretty simple choice. Star Wars, for the lightsabers, jedi mind tricks, and awesome outfits. :/ Also, Han Solo.

Star Trek or Doctor Who. Time travel is the awesomest idea ever. I've even toyed around with writing a few short stories about time travel. So, yeah, Doctor Who.

Or Star Trek, for obvious reasons.

Torn between Firefly and Mass Effect.

Firefly has that whole closer to believable thing going for it, which Mass Effect has some of, too. But then theres also the whole thing of Mass Effect having that Reaper threat looming at all times, and being hated by a large percentage of other alien races. At the same time, Firefly has, essentially, Pioneer life with a lot of modern technology if you live on the fringes

Either Trek or Mass Effect. Mass Effect is more interesting, but Trek is more stable. I guess Mass Effect though, it is just really fun, plus; we have Shepard.

Here is what I considered before voting for Star Trek. I ruled out series which I know little to nothing about (Babylon 5). In Battlestar Galactica there is the whole issue of the Cylons(sp?) trying to kill humans. That was out. In Star Wars the political state is constantly unstable. Quick, think of a Star Wars game or movie with a stable and just government... there isn't one? In Firefly, love it as I may, the Alliance is corrupt, non-Alliance folk are incredibly poor and live in a, mostly, archaic way and on top of that you have to deal with Reavers, so that was out, too. Mass Effect was my second choice, but the whole Reapers thing made me have some second thoughts on that one... Maybe pre-Mass Effect 1 galaxy would be fun.

Star Trek won out in the end because, while it has galactic threats, they always seem to mostly deal directly with Starfleet. The whole universe seems pretty clean and crisp. Plus, Picard is sweet.
...and you get Replicators, Holodecks, Transporters and free holidays on Risa.
