Imagine:

One day, you wake up and all of a sudden - while having breakfest - your parents tell you your name is not... say, Mark, but John(just an example). Even more so, they aren't your real parents. You where found long ago on the streets as a baby and they raised you.

THEN:

An explosion because of a gas leak. The walls come down.
After regaining conciousness and climbing out of the rubble, you come to the conclusion you're the only one alive of your 'family'. Your money survived, and you have more that enough to get anywhere.
Your roots are unknown, and you are free to go in the open...

In that case I'd probably just find my parents...but lets be honest if this is America you're going to get mugged somewhere along the line if you're just walking around...

The same thing I'd do if they hadn't said anything before the explosion. I'd pick up the pieces of my life, and move on. I'd have no real connection to my "real" parents even though I am related to them by blood.
