Wow... I also find this offensive.

I had a very big imagination when i was a very little boy, but I was smart enough to realize that imaginary things aren't real and I didn't want to be a hypocrite by becoming something I make fun of/get weirded out by...

I've fabricated a series of imaginary advisers, which are basically imaginary friends only less "friend" and more personification of a part of my personality/thoughts. Actually, it's a long story I won't go into here.

I don't have an imaginary friend as such, but I do have a self-aware voice in my head. His most common phrases are : 'well that was stupid' and 'just do it already!'

I didn't really have an imaginary friend.. I more or less made a friend out of an inanimate object.
Think Plank from Ed, Edd, & Eddy. Except mine was a rubber lobster.

..I named him Sebastian...

....He wore a monocle...

I had one when I was younger, his name was Fred.

He had long blonde hair, sort of dreadlocks, green eyes, the same blue & white shirt I did when I was young, and he was tall & lanky. He never spoke. Just kept me company.

An' also, can all the people going 'i called him/her God but i grew out of it lolol' cut it out? It wasn't funny the first time and it serves no other purpose than trying to be clever, and failing.

Nope never had one, but ever since I was young I've found I'll just wonder around pretending/imagining I'm someone else/doing something else in my mind, if I am doing shopping I'm looting a store during the zombie apocalypse, I'm driving my car but it's actually a quinjet I'm flying.

Only time I've found it useful is when I have to eat something bland I don't like or when I'm doing a monotonous task.

I still do this and I'm 20.

I find that offensive
I had one called Ra (he was a stuffed wolf, similar to Hobbes the tiger from Calvin and Hobbes), and I grew out of it by age 8.

Are you offended?

Dude, I had a stuffed tiger and I PRETENDED it was Hobbes XD, although, my imagination wasn't as, -ahem- extravagant as Calvin's was.

Probably not, because you most likely did< have an imaginary friend called that, and you're not just posting the whole 'god isn't real ' thing to be a smartarse.

Most likely. I don't know. It's too hot and I'm getting pissy.

Yeah, Watterson had big effect on me, even now I love those books. But he never had merchandise so I've never been able to have my own Hobbes. Ra was nice though, think my parents gave him away long ago. Shame, would've liked to pass him along.

Wow man...
That was the most motivational poster I've ever seen. It made me kinda tear up a bit...

Given what a daydreamer I am now, and how I've actually toned it down since my childhood, it honestly surprises and baffles me that I didn't have one. I didn't even realize I didn't have one until my Grandmother asked my Mom about it. When my Mom mentioned the conversation to me, I was truly dumbfounded at how sure I honestly was that I did not have an imaginary friend growing up. I even spent at least the next week asking myself, "why didn't I have one?" I mean, I suppose I could have forgotten about it, but given the meticulous care imaginary friends are crafted with (I mean, they're tailor-made to satisfy some sort of "ideal"), they shouldn't be easy to forget.

Some people found it offensive as Ra is Egyptian god...I was 5-8 though so I didn't set out to ignite controversy. I think we should keep in perspective children's minds are different in some regards to adults.

Roughly what Ra looke dlike (well, to everyone else..._

To me at 6...

Well when I was younger I was constantly forced to play outside by my dad so yeah imaginary freinds and lots of them. However I cannot describe them as for I was young and hardly remember anything from my childhood.

sad part is I'm 19 and can't remember being 7..

Yeah, well I talked to myself, it's kinda reassuring. Not so much a split personality, more like creatively projecting the opposing views in physical form. Mine was always some kind of shadow being. Kinda reminded me of the Anti-Spiral [http://animanachronism.files.wordpress.com/2008/03/antispiral2.jpg] from Gurren Lagann. Still do it, but it's more for debunking theories and such. Also keeps the creativity flowing.
