Been playing the living crap out of Fire Emblem and Disgaea on my DS and it got me thinking---fans of Japanese strategy games/SRPGs have always recommended Advance Wars, Fire Emblem, Disgaea, and stuff like Phantom Brave to me (mostly as a means of saying "there are much better SRPGs out there than Final Fantasy Tactics Advance). I've played all of the above except Phantom Brave and ended up spending some time before falling asleep last night pondering just which company I liked better. I finally decided on Intelligent Systems (Advance Wars was the tiebreaker in my view) before thinking "I have got to post this tomorrow." (yes, my mind's that warped.)
