Poll: Invader Zim.

I would love to see it come back, but I think it would work better as some sort of internet show, podcast or similar. That way, we wouldn't have to listen to parents complaining as much.

Sorry about the double post, but what complaining? I was a bit young when the show first ran, are there any examples floating around the intertubes?

I voted Yes, but I doubt we'd see it. It's sort of a niche of being too adult for the kid channels but too kid for the adult channels. It is, at least, excellent DVD fodder.

Looking it up on Amazon just now, you can actually view it online for $2 an episode.
Also apparently free on Hulu [http://www.hulu.com/videos/search?query=invader+zim]. Legitimately, I think.

Greatest animation ever to come out of Nickelodeon, but I don't want them to make more episodes. Any more will seem half-arsed.

I couldn't agree with you more, it's like trying to bring back Arrested Development, they had their time, and it's been so long since then that it just wouldn't be the same.

I think they're still doing new episodes on Nicktoons Network (not Nickelodean, an off-shoot of it). Not as good as the old ones, though. I think, as someone said, if they could bring it back on Adult Swim and actually do mature humor (not that the original show wasn't funny, it basically introduced me to ironic humor back in the day) it would be great.

Maybe I'm alone in this, but one of my favorite things about this show was how he kept the show both creepy and dark while still kid-friendly. If they brought it back, it wouldn't be right without the characters, and they are not the type I see cursing or making obviously adult oriented jokes. Without the fumbling lose-lose relationship of Zim and Dib, there would be no worthwhile character relationship left on the show, and so getting rid of the kids is out as well.

I think it fits exactly where it is and would be lessened if they allowed more adult humor and situations. I mean, why not just ask for a Johnny the Homicidal Maniac show with aliens?

I liked Invader Zim's darkness, sometimes it was downright disturbing and all the better for it. But, I hate shouting, and Zim, GIR and Dib all did that a LOT, so I'd probably give it a miss if it were to come back.

I'm surprised at how many people here are saying Invader Zim was a dumb show, I mean come one, ever saw Cartoon Network? Cow and Chicken, Ed Edd 'n Eddy, Kids Next Door... now THOSE were dumb shows.

I would love to see Zim return, but Vasquez has made it clear that he would not come back to it.

Course, I would much rather see an animated Johnny the Homicidal Maniac.. that stuff was great.

Also, for those who felt it was a dumb show.. did you ever really watch it with an understanding of satire? The show was all about poking fun at society, assumptions about 'advanced' alien races, and science!

Oh well.. way ahead of its time, and really not intended for the younger masses.
