All things must die, even gods.
But to be, indestructible. That would be something.

Ever seen the movie "Unbreakable"? If not go watch it ASAP.

Well if I ever get bored as an immortal I could kill myself...it'd be really interesting to see the planet evolve. Our Star dying long after we've moved on or died out...our galaxy cooling and shrivelling away and then I'd get to see how the universe ends...if I had some sort of space ship that could support me, if not then I'm dying with our star!

Once you're dead that's literally it. Close your eyes and try to imagine lacking any power to do anything, hear anything or see anything, and you'll touch on what death would be like.

Once you're dead it's game over, and you may as well never have lived, as you leave everything - even your mind - behind.

-Immortal.

Invincible, For the fact that A. Immortals can just be shot to death B. Why be immortal, everyone you know and love dies around you as time goes by, from your family, friends, to your wife and kids. C. Mix invincibility with the portal gun, and it's gonna be an awesome life.

Invincible. I don't want my life cut short in a car accident or similar but neither do I want to stand by watch my loved ones slowly turn to dust.

Prometheous said:
These two concepts are similar in that they both obviously avoid death in some way. Immortality takes death by old age out of the picture, while invincibility protects you from harm (for the purpose of this survey, invincibility does not protect from deterioration of cells. a.k.a old age).

So if you had to choose, would you live forever or live a life without injury (and why)?

P.S Trust me, I know the speed of your cells' independent degeneration is indicative of your invincible longevity so theoretically it doesn't make sense, but frankly neither of things are possible. So, which would it be?
Question, when Immortal, supposing the earth dies out, or you explode, whatever. What happens? Do you regenerate or just stuck the way you are but somehow conscious?

Immortal without additional powers would be unlucky.
As soon as people catch on, you're a lab rat for eternity.

Invincible isn't exactly the same thing as invulnerable, but unbeatable is god enough.
It would mean you simply cannot lose at anything, even if you take on the whole world by yourself.

Let's say I wanted to be immortal. What would happen to me if I took a spaceship and flew it into the sun? Would I still live? If not, whenever I got sick of the world, I would just fly into the sun.

Invincible, living forever would suck but I still want to do a whole load of shit before I die

One includes running into Iraq wearing nothing but hawaiian shorts, dual-wielding UMPs or Uzis and fucking the shit up of every insurgent who looks at me funny.

That and jumping from a spaceship when I am high in the Earth's galaxy and plummeting to earth and being my own personal comet

And being able to be a big a jackass as possible without worrying about someone knifing me to death

Invincibility. The idea of never growing old, whilst family members and loved ones around you continue to age is like my idea of hell. If i was immune to pain then i could at least make some form of difference in the world for example, fighting in wars and what not.

I don't know, the concept of death scares the shit out of me, but living forever would probably drive you mad. I'll go with Invincible and be a heroic hero of justice in my life time.

Invincibility for Sure. Living forever on the earth would suck, and I am the kind of guy who believes in a wonderful afterlife.

My way of thinking is thus;

Invincibility is immunity to physical harm, but not old age

Immortality is immunity to ageing, but not physical harm

I'd rather be invincible-Never get hospitalised again.
