When you phrase it like that, almost everyone will choose invulnerability (myself included). A better way would be to use the immortality of the elves from LotR. Immune to age and diease, but can still die in battle.

I would take immortality because I would like to see how humanity will evolve throughout the milleniums.

Invulnerability although you weren't clear what we are vulnerable to? I mean we get no illness or what about getting shot?

Immortality. Advanced stages of old age is among the worst fates I can imagine, and yet everyone goes through it if they don't kick the bucket early.

So yes, give me the anti-aging pill here. I won't last forever, eventually I'll get hit by a car, or catch some nasty disease, or even get REALLY bored and decide to see if there's an afterlife after all, just give me an opportunity to let that end happen some two to three hundred years from now, still in the prime of physical development, having seen as much of life as I could ever ask for.

I would take invulnerability. I don't want to live on this *beep*hole forever.

You couldn't off yourself if you read the OP. You are forced to endure forever.

Immortality.

I would spend my time learning everything. Every profession and every field of expertise would be mastered so I could one day basically become the new Doctor and help humanity to a better future.

I am terrified by the concept of immortality. Do you realy want to be alive as the Sun expands and destroys the Earth? How will you even remain sane after a few centuries? So yeah, invunerbaility any day of the week.

This is one thing that always made me wonder, because technically total invulnerability is immortality. If it wasn't you would be vulnerable to ageing or the causes thereof,as I recall wolverine is essentially this(I am probably wrong, not that much of a fan). Therefore define the limitations please :)

I'm gonna assume you mean elven immortality vs. invulnerability?
I say elven immortality, because those fuckers are immortal, but they can still die from injury and sickness. Regular immortality is a kind of modified invulnerability.

I'd rather have invulnerability because it would be awesome to do whatever I wanted for the duration of my life. I would do quite a bit of lava swimming, get shot out to space, re-enter the atmosphere, walk on the moon, and basically did whatever I wanted.
If I was immortal, I'd become a recluse (so people would leave me alone) and become a writer. So, basically my current plan, but with much less social interaction.

Invunerability, listened to Xanadu by Rush and immortality would kind of suck and life would be pretty crappy knowing I could die by doing something stupid whereas with Invunerability you could do whatever you want and have a better quality life.

Me I pick invulneranble, because Immortality would suck in about 1million years when the sun dies and Earth explodes. Floating round space forever wouldn't be fun
Ditto. And you are like, the first person to realize the floating through space thing. Everytime one of these threads comes up I have to bring up that point because no one seems to consider it.

Immortality is overrated. You get to see everyone you care about die. You get to see humanity die. You get to see all animals die. You get to see all plants die. You will be stuck on a planet with no resources left. A cold dead planet that has lost all of its beauty. You want to see how it ends? It ends in a very boring way and it will stay boring for a few 100 million years before the sun finally consumes all the planets. You'll also not be able to grasp the flow of time and thus you're doomed to go crazy. Immortality isn't a reward. It's a curse.

Invulnerability, now that is better. I would always go with that.

Really? You guys picked invulnerability? There are two simple reasons why that makes no sense:

1. Death is much more inevitable then injury.
2. If you're immortal, you have time to figure out how to make yourself invulnerable. And solve any other problems that might come with immortality. Friends all dead? No problem! Figure out how to make them immortal too, then invent a time machine to back and prevent their deaths! What's that you say? That'll take a really long time? Who gives a shit? You're FUCKING IMMORTAL.

Invulnerability of course. I always wanted to take a swim in a volcano. That would be cool!
Skinny dipping in a volcano sounds fun. Sign me up for invulnerability. Unless you have lava proof bathers.
Even if I had I wouldn't wear them. The only way to enjoy a volcano is naked.
Though we would have to invent a beachball that could resist the heat.

I would pick invulnerability, if not for one problem...

Guy 1: "Me and my friend here are going to demonstrate the wonderful benefits of invulnerability!"

(Guy 2 kicks Guy 2 in the crotch)

Guy 2: "Grrrraaahhhhh!!!!"

(Guy 2 collapses)

Guy 2: "I'm invulnerable to INJURY! Not PAIN!!!"

Guy 1: "And that is our first benefit! I can do this all day!"

Now, with immortality would it be you can say, get shot in the face in die?

Invunerabliity would be nice, as long as your body didn't get hurt. IF you did swim in a volcaino, wouldn't your flesh melt and grow back , or would it be like whatever, no damage?
