Poll: iPad or ModBook

the ipad or the modbook. thats a tough one, but not for me i like the modbook!

i am not trying to persuade any one of anything but i am interested in which would the general community pick. so i am going to give you some general knowledge of each and links so you can decide

iPad: its a large ipod touch with the same interface but much faster and better than almost everything. except fitting in your pocket. limited os the only apps are located on the app store.

Modbook: conversion for used or new macbooks that makes them into tablets. normal mod books only accept pen input but the new modbook pro uses both multi-touch and pen input. it is literally a macbook with a screen instead of a keyboard. you can have 3G installed as well as gps which can track your modbook if it is stolen (gps is 3rd party and not available from all vendors)

I just realised something - isn't it ironic that, while vs. threads are frowned upon, The Escapist themselves fully endorse a MASSIVE vs. war in the form of March Mayhem every year?

OT: I haven't tried either one out... but I think the iPad looks cooler, but Modbook looks more practical.

That mod books looks quite awesome, it's what the iPad should have been.

It would be awesome to have some kind of bass app on it, that I can play bass on my tablet

the ipad does have an on screen keyboard but no where near the power of a modbook (dualcore 2.2 GHz, maximum 6 gig ram 750 gig HHD cd/dvdburner 2 usb drives, 8 hours of battery... anything that you can put in a mac 13.3 in macbook can be put in a modbook. because it is a mac book

If it can't fully accomplish the same things as a regular laptop then i wouldn't get it. As an engineer I need a tablet for my school and i would also need something that can do the exact thing as a normal computer.

but i respect that some people don't need a full osx tablet and only need the middle ground and thats what the i pad covers

personally i have 2 macs that are identical one is a ModBook i use a program to keep them both in sinc so they are alwase identical so i can usee either at any time.

Changing the word doesn't mean it isn't a versus thread. You are still comparing the two things.

I'm worried that you just realised this... I kid I kid. MM is just for traffic and they get their own massive thread for it, yet that doesn't seem to be enough as threads are made about it every hour.... I see why a lot of people hate march.

It's not too bad, it's just that the threads get so much traffic it's hard to find any other good topics to talk about.

I'm not even talking about this thread with what you are responding to. I'm talking about March Madness.

OT: I would choose the one that works more like a computer than a tablet, because I don't need a tablet.

well they are both tablets just the power and interface are different. but i see what you are saying.
