I as in Steve Jobs? Like Steve Jobs phone since he has his grimy mitts all over everything controlling everything like a OCD child with his favorite action figure. I'm not a fan of Mac products as they're overpriced beyond belief, I just looked in my local computer store paper and spotted a mac for 3 grand, my PC can run circles around it and I spent like 1200. What makes the mac 3 grand? I don't know, but I'm not paying a cent for it.

I have a little iPod Mini from way back. Don't use it anymore. I'd like to get an iPod Touch or an iPod Classic (I'm swaying between apps and space). I don't need an iPhone. I've got a Droid.

Nope don't have any and don't want any, I have used a few and can't tell the difference between them and something that cost less. What I think is they are a fashion statement and a way to look "cool".

I have an iPod and a recently-bought 2nd-hand Macbook Pro, courtesy of my brother.
He went and bought ANOTHER Macbook, and left me with his for $600.
Worth it though.

My phone replaced any need for an mp3 player. I highly dislike Apple and their overpriced "trendy" hardware.

You hit it spot on there, good sir. The iProducts are overpriced as hell in my opinion, especially when you see what hardware you get.

I have an iPod(can't remember which, since there are so many) that was given to me for Christmas a few years ago. It is by far the best MP3 player I've ever owned, and I have been through at least 10. The battery life is fantastic, and the interface is very easy to use. I use it on a daily basis, since I do a lot of walking. I also listen to it when I go to sleep.

I hated having to get iTunes for it, but I've fallen in love with the program. It's easy to use, and help me keep my music organized.

Overall, I'm happy with it.

The only device I'd consider would be an iPod, but seeing as they're horribly overpriced for a simple MP3-player I stick with my much cheaper yet just as good Creative Zen Mosaic.

As a Computer Scientist we are naturally against Apple products; they're only really useful if you're a designer, artist or a musician.

They're a step behind the times, I mean, they release a mouse with one button (to which the PC users get confused), then later on they release a mouse with two buttons and say it's revolutionary... Hello? Mice have had at least 3 buttons for the good part of 10 years now...

Or at least you could. Apple unfortunatly have cornered the market where I live. I don't know many who own a non-Apple mp3 player and the majority of those that do have Zunes that they imported from the US.

I currently have an old iriver but when I get an SD card for my new phone I won't need an mp3 player at all.

The problem I have with the iPod is that their sound quality and battery life are absoloute rubbish. A friend of mine bought a Sony Walkman mp3 player like you did, it is so good. I wish I could find one anywhere around here.

I've got a macbook pro and an ipod nano. I'm planning on getting an iPhone when my current contract expires.

Every Apple product I've ever owned has fit my purposes very well, and usually been better than competing products. While a mac is more expensive than building a custom Windows rig, I feel like OS X is well worth the extra couple hundred bucks, and the iPhone really isn't any more expensive than any competing products ? not to mention the much more expansive app library.

But how many of those apps are actually useful? Seriously, my sister has an iTouch and most of the apps are a complete waste of time and space.

There are other good smartphones out there. When you go to buy your iPhone check out the HTC Desire. It has better resolution, touchscreen, processor and sound quality just to name a few. It's cheaper too. On the other hand it isn't as pretty to look at as the iPhone.

Take for example this story:

I decided that I wanted an MP3 player. I didn't need anything with a ridiculous amount of memory, just something small. I thought about buying an 8 gig iPod nano, researched it on the internet, was all set to buy, and then I found out about Sony Walkman MP3 players from a friend of mine, so I checked them out.

HOLY CRAP.

For half the price of an iPod, I got a Walkman, which had 45 hours of music playback versus the iPod Nano's 8. I was sold then and there, bought it, and it has faithfully been serving me since.

Since then, I have never even considered buying an Apple product, because all you end up paying for a brand, and the design, not what it can do.

Do you mean 45GB of storage? Because 8gb would have been a lot more than 8 hours.

I found an old iPod behind a bench once, and it serves me well to this day. I would love to have one of their flashy new gadgets, but they are WAY out of my price range. goddam 700 bucks for an ipad? No thanks.

My iPod Touch has been probably one of the best purchases I've ever made. Why? I only own a desktop computer and I needed WiFi on-the-go when I was on campus at my university. I certainly was not going to buy a notebook for something like that.

The fact that it can also play music and video is just more icing on the cake.

I personally would never buy an Apple computer, but their handheld devices are quality.

My dad bought me a really nice iPod for Christmas this past year and I love it. I take it everywhere with me.

But I wouldn't buy anything else on my own. For one, I'm simply too broke to afford it, and I just generally don't need it--my computer works just fine for what I need it for, and my phone is perfect for what I need it for (hell, my phone was bought for $10 at Walmart and I pay $30 every other month for minutes, because that's all I need).

My big brother is a huge Mac fan, though.

I had an iPod Nano a while ago. It's the worst piece of crap I've ever bought. The sound quality, even with new headphones, was worse than my £10 MP3 player from Asda. The format used in iPods destroys track quality and the only thing they have to make up for it is shiny, useless gimmicks like turning it on it's side to scroll through albums. Sounds good, til you realise it has violently molested the quality of every song in those albums. It's like side-scrolling through a morgue for songs.

Sometimes, I wish Apple would bring out a product that had actual, functional quality to match the gadgets and gimmicks they add. Their presentation is stellar, Apple really do make good looking things. I don't want to hate Apple, but until they bring out something that is good at doing what it was intended to do I will continue to do so. Applications are just a way to making a bad product seem bearable.
