Perhaps there comes a time when the escapism must momentarily cease. We can't sit here for the rest of our lives. Let us take a step back and exchange wisdom on the subject of the soulless hellhole we know as "reality".

+ Politicians are never going to listen to a word spoken on internet forums. Our debates are meaningless here.

+ If there ever was a zombie apocalypse, you would likely be one of the infected and never get a chance to fight. Even if you did, you are a suburban white kid with little (if any) firearms expertiese and NO survival skills. You are essentially the easiest target possible - especially if you're fat.

+ There is no such thing as "friendzone" - if you can't ask then the word is "cowardly". If she rejects you, the word is "fat/ugly"

+ No one will ever read the game ideas or movie scripts you've spent so long writing. They will be erased from existance next time your computer is wiped.

Oh, fine.
Nobody in the industry really cares what we write in our reviews. We are not as popular as Yahtzee.

But reality is booooring and I don't like it. The graphics aren't even that good, and the plot is absolute crap. Maybe a few patches down the line it'll be OK, but not yet.

I think real life is meant to be that fun, I think it's some sort of trial of boredom.

If any exchange of information is meaningless, it would be to say that it is.

I half-agree with this one. The "friend-zone" is a lame excuse for not asking people out or being shy, but if you're rejected, you're not necessarily fat or ugly.

Hah, gotta love trolls trying the intelligence route. To quote House, "it's oxymoronic... actually I'm not even sure it's oxy". *throws a bite* better luck for a bigger chunk next time :)

Hm. A thread seeking nothing more than to anger the entire Escapist community by telling us that our conversations are meaningless? We know that. The forums are a form of entertainment and discussion. We don't need to be told otherwise.

Don't start flame wars like this, they aren't tolerated here.

1) politicians dont listen to a word spoken by anyone but themselves, its still good to have an outlet to express your feelings

2) yes i am a white kid (you assume blacks and hispanics are more likely to survive) WITH firearms experience AND basic survival techniques but unfortunalty i live in the UK and noone has a gun (although fortunatly i live in glasgow so knifes are very common), also im very skinny so i wouldnt be a prime target for a zombie

3) i dont really get this but im assuming you are talking about asking out a girl, yeah ive had the ugly reply many time BECAUSE ITS TRUE

4) lol most of my game ideas just come from chats with freinds, wouldnt that be cool. i think its good to post your ideas and just DISCUSS them

As soon as you die, all your ambitions die with you. Your parents will likely have already died, and any family or friends that actually care for you will feel more sorry for themselves than for you. As years pass, you will either be forgotten, or what few memories of you exist are twisted and warped by nostalgia to represent a better time or fulfill an agenda.

That's not the point at all. Politicians are representatives. And the people they represent DO listen to words spoken on internet forums.. or eventually they all will.
+ If there ever was a zombie apocalypse, you would likely be one of the infected and never get a chance to fight. Even if you did, you are a suburban white kid with little (if any) firearms expertiese and NO survival skills. You are essentially the easiest target possible - especially if you're fat.
The most feasible thing about "Zombie Apocalypses" is the whole "Zombie" Part... It's more likely that people could accidentally create brain hungry zombies then those zombies actually posing any sort of real threat to the world.
+ There is no such thing as "friendzone" - if you can't ask then the word is "cowardly". If she rejects you, the word is "fat/ugly"
This doesn't make any sense. If she rejects you, the word is probably more likely "Doesn't want to ruin a good friendship".. Friendships are much easier to maintain then Relationships. If she accepts you, then you weren't in the friendzone to begin with because she was waiting for you to ask.
+ No one will ever read the game ideas or movie scripts you've spent so long writing. They will be erased from existance next time your computer is wiped.
I can't argue with that one. But I don't go into such ventures expecting anyone but me to read them.. it's fun to make them.

Heh, I beg to differ with some of them, but most of them are true for most people.

1. The politics stuff is WRONG! We have Piratpartiet! (The Pirate Party translated) But... They'll never make it into the parliament as it looks now... =/

2. I'm skinny, got pretty good survival skills, know how to use a rifle (although I don't have access to anything else than an air rifle) and I'm somewhat skilled with a katana/similar weapon.

3. Might be true, I wouldn't know.

4. Yea, no. I don't do that, but I know people who have actually gotten somewhere with stuff like that.

But again, most is true for most people.

Also: No matter what you do, you will never be truly satisfied. Not even with bacon.

Life is a progression from want to want, not from enjoyment to enjoyment. You are unlikely to ever be completely satisfied.
