It makes the quality better. So if you want better quality, then yeah.

yes, yes, a thousand times yes. a friend of mine has a sdtv and after years of Hd glory, watching a shitty standard tv was jarringly poor.

It depends on your personal tastes. I have access to an HD tv and I rarely use it. To me their isn't that much of a difference visually to justify me having to play out in my living room instead of the comfort of playing in my bedroom.

I'll admit that HD certainly looks nicer, but I could certainly do without it.

Depends, if you can play blurays on pc and run your console through your PC monitor then no, you can probably already access better than HD image quality.

If not then it's a modest improvement over current screens, but really not worth the extra cash on screens under about 26 inches.

I think it's worth it. It definitely makes gaming more enjoyable; for one thing it lets designers occupy less of the screen with HUD/interface stuff because smaller print is still legible.

I'm less sold on Blu-Ray movies, but that's mainly because my HD set is only 26" and the difference between it (at 1080p) and a DVD (480p-upscaled-to-1080i) is virtually indistinguishable. (And the other advantage BR has, 7.1-channel audio, is lost on my 5.1 receiver.) If you have a bigger screen, though, the higher-density format is probably worth it.

I recently bought a shiny new Full HD TV. When I switched my 360 to HD, after playing on an SD TV for several years, my initial reaction was this: O_O

In other words: yes, very very much so.

It looks nicer, but unless you routinely watch only HDTV, it wont look the tiniest bit different compared to the average.

So yeah, its better, but at the same time, its really not necessary whatsoever.

HD picture is nice and a definite winner, but it's nothing unless accompanied by HD sound. So crank out the 6.1 amp and then we're talking the true HD experience.

HD is supposed to be good.

I have a tiny SD, but I played at a friends house on his 28" HD. I must say, the only differences I could see were that the TV was widescreen default and much bigger. I'm probably missing a lot, but I couldn't see much of a difference.

I've not seen any movies on Blu-ray, or HD television programmes. However, there's no way I could go back to standard-definition gaming. I struggle to play Wii games sometimes, I just hate standard definition.
