Hello Escapists (unless we are escapers or escaperists) I have a bit of a question for you. This question needs a bit of back story:
I, and many of my friends, am currently in a program readying me to become a military officer. This program is the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC), it is a program designed to coincide with my college curriculum to graduate me with a commission in the U.S. Army. This means alot of my friends and peers are getting ready for a life in the military, or atleast to complete their contract. Well there was once a Cadet "John Doe", a bit of a fuck up really. He had no class, no tact, no real inhibition. He was one big E.O. complaint waiting to happen, and we all feared the day he would lead troops. Well he dropped the program and we thought that would be the end of him. And for the most part it was, he slowly faded into the shadowy background, until he got a girl friend.
This Girl is also a fellow cadet (or was) and dated both myself and another cadet "Jack Johnson" in the program for a bit, and she is a rather cool girl. We get along and we still talk, and we give each other a hard time like friends or brothers-in-arms. Its basically a lot of ball busting and joking around.
Now this is where the question comes in, the ex-Cadet John Doe posted a status about his GF and as a joke and kind of to ruffle some feathers i wanted to post a joking comment. You see i have no problem with the guy now that he is outside of the program, and i get along well with his girl friend so i wanted to post
"John Doe boldly going where Jack Johnson has gone before"
Kind of as a way to screw with my female friend, my buddy CDT "Johnson", and as a little jab at "John Doe"
So what do you think Escaperisers, is it wrong or petty of me to do it?
