Is it worth arguing or complaining about discrimination.
Their are hundreds of stories on how people of a certain race, religion or country argue about their rights being violated. Yet people still believe stereotypes above all.
So I am curious should people still complain about it, because personally it doesn't appear to do much good.

In principle people should campaign against discrimination, but it all goes too far - like when people complain and a some convict's human rights are being violated becuase he can't have a TV in his cell, despite the fact that he's murdered 30 people and blown up a hospital full of orphaned kittens. Or something like that

If that discrimination is detrimental to your standard of living then (and there's no valid reason for it), then yes you have a right to complain about it.

You shouldn't complain, no. But like the above poster says a campaign against discrimination isn't bad. The idea though is a campaign against ALL discrimination, that's the problem with complaining about it too : people who complain about discrimination are usually part of a minority and are complaining about discrimination against them and that minority, NOT against discrimination as a whole.

Yes you should complain against discrimination as everyone should have equal rights. Take Ageism as an example; its extremely unfair that certain age groups can't get jobs in the current economic climate due to stereotypes or an employees prejudices.

As long as humans have free will there will always be discrimination, bullying and arguments. Its a horrible thought but its true.

No, it's not worth it. It's like the spoiled rich kid complaining that he doesn't yet have a diamond tricycle when all his neighbors only have wooden blocks to play with.

What we have here is nothing compared to 2/3 of the world.

Actual discrimination, yes. But people have got a very funny idea of discrimination it seems, for example I heard that it is now illegal to criticize islam in Holland. Real discrimination should be cracked down on, but people seem to have become over sensitized with political correctness recently.

or you get in my situation where an older lady(somewhere in her 60s) hits you and then tries to pin the blame on you.
actual discrimination shouldn't be complained about something should be done. me? i don't discriminate i hate everyone equally. for the most part. theres a few who i hate more than others but still....special exceptions who have gone out of their way to make me mad.
complaining about it gets nothing done. i hold to the rule with the people i will call myself friends with, absolutley no discrimination when talking to me or near me. save it for someone who cares about your discriminatory remarks. not that i'm against discriminating type of jokes in the right context.......
i hang out with all types of people. different religions, no religion, boy, girl, other......as long as you have a compatible personality then i don't care.

The most important aspect is that we're all human and more then likely capable for the jobs we do. If you have skill in a certain area, there shouldn't be a problem with whether your black, yellow, a girl, a boy, or even retarded. Notice how I say shouldn't

It's a terrible thing and I'd love to get rid of it. I feel that it does no good, but I can still try to stop it when I see it, right?

A wise man of the internet told me something once.

"Stereotypes only persist because they're true at least 51% of the time."

He was a very wise man.

Now, the REASON those stereotypes remain true at least 51% of the time, that's a different issue, and comes down to the people involved. Don't like a stereotype commonly applied to you? Don't fit it. Encourage others not to fit it. When it's no longer seen, it'll no longer exist.

This, there isn't much I can actually add to it.
