Ahh Wrestling! So much fun to be poked at it.. Ya know what i love?

In a tag match, when one team have been beating the crap out of one member of the other team, then suddenly the half dead guy tags in his partner! Who does OVER 9000 clotheslines and wins.

The most original thing ever!

Sorry, why is there a thread about fake wrestling?
I'm not a wrestling fan either, but c'mon... you're really confused by this? Wrestling is incredibly popular. Sounds like you're just being a dick. It's why the question is "Do you find him ENTERTAINING?" It's just entertainment, and everyone knows it. Even the fans.
Sad thing is, not everyone knows it. Besides that, I find the whole thing from the ground up to be incredibly stupid.
I have yet to meet a single adult who believes wrestling is real and as for the younger audience, they're suppose to think it is real. You wouldn't tell a little kid that Santa Claus doesn't exist would you?

Oh oh oh I c wut you did ther!! Very funny.

Anyway, John Cena is annoying. He pretty much is still using the same wrestling stunts he was when he started to gain fame, he does always the same character, always the same "acting moments" always the same.

Actually the only thing that changed was that his finisher move is longer called the FU or whatever.

Cena's a decent wrestler and he's entertaining as hell, throwing all kinds of cool little character moments and expressions into every appearance he makes.

But the dude should not be a face.

heh, I remember the "Cena can't wrestle chants". He came after my wrestling era but I never really saw his appeal.

Good one :)

I personally like him and admire how he's built.

Those chants could hae been instructions given to de public you know how they like to dramatize everything in that show.

How he was booked was one of the main hate factors against him at first. 2 years in the main event scene where he constantly had the title, would never look weak against someone, and wrestled with the bare minimum amount of actual wrestling moves, and ones that where full of showboating and take the minimum amount of 'skill' to perform. Yes it was very easy to hate him, myself included.

Now a days its a completely different story. I actually have an unlimited amount of respect for the guy. He is a business guy, the only reason he was on top is because he took the company and carried on his shoulders like no one else. Have you ever seen and interview with the guy, he sleeps 4 hours a night, every night, he wrestles 4/5 times a week, does as many media appearances as he can fit in, does movies on top of wrestling full time, respects the fans who helped make him, and he still loves his job! He is superman, they booked him as superman because that's exactly what he is. But even old arguments that people used to hate him for don't work any more but he still gets the hate because he is marketed towards kids, but have you seen the crowd, 2/3 of the people wearing his t shirts are 20+. He barely had the title for past 2 years, constantly putting people over, but he still gets shit for hogging the gold and refusing to put people over because he is superman.

Its bullshit, Cena as a person has never done anything wrong, he has been booked as being too strong sometimes, but that's just because no one steps up and deserves to beat him. Its changed recently. He has never beaten Sheamus one on one on television or ppv, do you know why, because Sheamus stepped up, he proved he was willing to put the company and wresling ahead of himself and he gets rewarded for it. That's how these things work.

Cena is entertaining, he is also one of the hardest working people, possibly ever in Wrestling. Watch every ppv match he has had this year. They have all been amazing, even some from late last year were amazing. His final feud with Orton, they were some of his best matches, and they weren't because he was carried by Orton. The dude can't catch a break, he is extremely dedicated, works extremely hard, and he still gets shit for it. He is the only person who after not having the title for a year, can go up against a strong opponent, and when he wins because it was the right thing to happen, all the marks go 'Cena wins, big surprise there', get your head out of your arse for you will never be half the man Cena is.

better question, why do you find wrestling entertaining? It's obviously fake, and therefore fixed, and not entertaining. I hate cena, but no more than i hate all pro wrestlers.

He's a bad entertainer, the quality of wrestling has gone massively downhill since the likes of The Rock left. He was able to deliver interesting, fun dialogue and because he was the champion the other wrestlers had to bring themselves up to a higher level. So the entire show became better delivered.

Wrestling was never the highest brow entertainment but now he's left it's fallen to the level of incomprehensible grown human tumours.

And the wrestling itself seems to have gotten slow an boring with most matches being a couple of chest slaps and then a low blow from someone outside the ring, no athletic value to be added to the zero entertainment value.

So are video games. So are movies. So are plays. So is anything else you hold dear.

I understand people not getting in to wrestling. I myself dislike hiphop music because all those guys are fake. But trust me, as an indy worker for 10 years I wish wrestling was as fake as you think it is.

Now go learn how to form a proper opinion.
Do you actually listen to yourself, yes video games movies and plays are fake, but they are also STORIES. Wrestling is a rigged competition that is obviously faked. You know how i know it's fake, because if it wasn't every wrestler would have died a long time ago from a broken spine, or a broken rip which ruptured his lungs, or a broken neck, or a brain hemorrage, or an annurism, or a any number of other injuries that would be caused by the hits these guys "take" from one another. The human body is a lot more fragile than you might think, and getting hit in the head by a 300 lb plus man using a folding chair, WOULD crack your skull, and risk causing a bleed or clot in the injured part of the brain that could kill you. dropping 6 feet with a 300lb plus man on your chest and landing on concrete, WOULD break many of, if not all of your ribs, and risk sending one into your lungs. I could go on, but if you don't get my point by now, your beyond hope. and several of these things can be treated in an er, you're correct, but a broken spine cant, nor can a broken neck, or many of the internal injuries and ruptured organs you would see if these guys actually fought.

I'm kind of a Cena hater but there has been a revolution of sorts over the last year in the IWC, last year, everyone turned on Randy Orton, and started hating him, as they hated Cena until then.

But yeah, Cena doesn't deserve the hate he gets, and what hate he gets is because of the way he was booked when he debuted, winning over everyone with miraculous "comebacks". However I think that... what? Kane won a world title, wuh? I thought he hardly had a chance of winning the IC title, let alone the WHC.

You still fail to see the point dude, wrestling is stories, hell they don't even try pretend its a sport, they call it sports entertainment, pretty good description. There can be a fight in a movie and in a movie its engaging and for a reason(usually), but when the same thing happens in a wrestling ring its just some dudes pretend fighting? Bullshit. They have a whole team of writers writing this stuff, on each show! It not like its just dudes who go to the ring and 'fight' and that's it. If it was no one would like it. Its method acting. A lot of them have actually taken acting classes as well as wrestling classes. Telling a story between and outside the ropes is an art.

And the guys do have outstanding injury's. The thing with wwe and others is that they continue wrestling. John Cena broke a disc is his neck last year. I can name about 4 others from recent enough who have broken their necks aswell. They tear ligaments, the break bones. They get hit in the head with chairs, guess what, they get concusssions! They amount of wrestlers who have been forced to retire from injury or died premature is massive. I can name 3 in the last year who have been in wwe in the past 5 years and who have died before they were 40. I am not asking you to believe the fights are real, they are clearly not, but don't understate their injurys. I know of at least 10 guys wrestling right now with major injurys.

Don't be so ignorant, educate yourself on this unique art form, for their is truly nothing like it.

I'm not ignorant, but you'll never believe that. NOt really sure why i thought i would ever find a wrestling fan who might actually use his head. I know of several ways that I, a 200 pound man can kill another, with my bare hands, relatively easily. Those guys are a lot stronger, and use weapons. I've seen wrestling, some of it anyway, and i have seen those guys stand up after taking a hit that WOULD have killed them, every single time i've watched it(for all of 5 minutes). You can beleive what you want, i know they are faking it, and if they weren't they would die. delude yourselves if you want, I'm done argueing.

you're missing my actual problem, it isn't that wrestling is fake. It is the logical conclusion that one must reach when he/she realizes that wrestling is fake. It is also rigged, and I don't care to watch two men pretend to beat on eachother so that the predetermined loser can take a fall when the crowd is excited enough.

I don't know what happened to wrestling, for reasons that would take too long to explain, I tried to catch up on whats been happening in the WWE. But it is so obscenely boring, what the heck happened? Its like someone decided to take a route to try and make the fake wrestling look as real as possible, but in doing so they cut everything fun out. What happened the the antics? Stuff like Stone Cold taking Booker T to a super market and beating his ass all over the place. Buried alive matches, people fighting in the parking lots, cars getting smashed etc? A wrestler making a rant another comes out and verbally rips him a new one. Now they just walk out trash talk about how one cant beat the other and they will win and anything outside a normal match is one guy gets outside interference or they don't release a submission hold...wtf?
I mean its gotten to a point where the overacting is just so bad. I saw the ladder match and I was like...so these guys can soar across the ring and do insane stunts...and yet they move like a 900lb fat guy when they try to climb a ladder and unhook a briefcase?

Its not about fooling yourself into thinking its real so that you enjoy it, everyone who watches it know its fake, they don't care. its about the stories they can tell in the ring, that is what matters, that is what keeps you watching. Call it a male soap opera if you want. No one wants you to believe its real, they want you to understand that it can still be entertaining regardless. Knowing its fake and that all the matches are fixed is half the fun. At least you know you get a good show out of it. In the ufc, fights are real, but a good loads of them end after 2 minutes. If a wrestling ppv gave you a main event that lasted 2 minutes they would get and extremely pissed off fan base.

Your not suppose to watch it as if you are 5 years old and look up to the supermen on screen and think everything is real. Its a story, just like any other tv show, or movie or play or book or whatever, the fact that its is fake guarantees you get a good show with exciting action instead of a 'real' sport where the fights last 2 minutes, they aren't exciting and you go home dissatisfied.

The weapons etc. are tools they use to elevate the story, a match where 2 guys 'fight' is one thing, but a feud that had been going on months finally culminating in a one on one match, where the 'bad guy' has to result to using a weapon to win is much more exciting. Attend a wrestling show and you will know what its all about.

I like John Cena. He was great when he was starting out. Hillarious and likeable make for a good combination in my opinion. He has a good shtick too, with the rapping.
