When playing most games online that involve killing your enemies you can find a leaderboard that has a Kill/Death ratio. The bigger the number the better you are(Usually.) If somebody has a K/D of 1.4 they are better than the person who has a K/D of .3.

To me, K/D is how I tell if I did good in a match and trying to keep it high is a great challenge for me. How important is K/D for you escapees?

Barricade yourself for the searchbar preachers!
Anyway, I don't care about K/D ratios, the game's enjoyability is the only important part to me.

I usually play just for fun. Dont really care about the score.
Mostly because there are a few things sader then someone stressing about his K/D ratio.

Heh heh... I have literally the stupidest answer to this.
<spoiler= Warning: This may make your brain melt from stupidity>
Well, in Left 4 Dead, my Kill/Death ratio is 1500/1.
Told you it was stupid.(Yes, I count regulars.)

Is it important to me? No but I do like to look at it to see if I am improving or not. Also it depends on the game because games like MW2 and other COD's it probably won't be very high but I have played other games where you will have much higher K/D ratios.

I thought, if the title reads "Poll: Is K/D important to you?", then why am I asked what my average K/D ratio is. If I answer this, it obviously means something to me.
How about a poll with the question : "Is your K/D important to you?" and the answers I choose from range from "yes" to "no"

I mainly play CTF and the like, so no. I usually end up with the worst K/D on the team, but a majority of the flag captures. That, or I end up giving the flag guy an escort back to our base several times.

Y'know, when I started playing MW2, I sucked ASS. As I slowly got better, so did my K/D. It was still at a .75 (Because I suck at shooters) but I was trying. Then I remembered that games are for FUN, so I started using the riot shield. I'm having an effing GREAT time, and my K/D lowered to .7, but I really could care less.

The moral of the story?

I.

They're biased. If you're a sniper who can rack off, say, three kills in a game and only die once, then you'll have a K/D ratio of 3.0. If you then play a game where you need to run'n'gun (example, any small map on Deathmatch using shotguns and grenades), then you're liable to die about 20 times and get perhaps ten kills, giving you a total K/D ratio of 0.5. This has no bearing on whether or not you're any good at the game, you might be amazing at everything but the aforementioned small map shotgun example, while someone could be absolute crap at everything except that. If they only play on those maps, then they'll rack up a huge ratio and thus the system is completely biased.

Hence I don't particularly care about K/D ratios, I just play for fun. Generally though, my kills and deaths are about even, though I generally play CTF anyway...
