exactly. on one hand, if done well it can bring an awesome old game to those who have never played it, or even make an old game that had some issues better. on the other hand though, usually the developers completly drop the ball and the games is okay at best (just like with movies) and the orginal version ends up being superior to its remake.L3m0n_L1m3 said:It CAN be a good idea, depends on how it's executed.
Actually, they're bad examples of remakes, since the new Monkey Island and Wolfenstein games are sequels.Rolf said:Today many old games are being remade. Games such as Monkey Island and Wolfenstein are good eksamples.
I agree. Some remakes are great. Some, Marilyn Manson's Sweet Dreams is fantastic example, are not.L3m0n_L1m3 said:It CAN be a good idea, depends on how it's executed.
Actually, the new The Secret of Monkey Island is a re-make, not a sequel.scnj said:Actually, they're bad examples of remakes, since the new Monkey Island and Wolfenstein games are sequels.Rolf said:Today many old games are being remade. I agree with this. It "CAN" be a good idea if well executed meaning more then just a gfx revamp, maybe adding in some new features and content that wasn't there originally.L3m0n_L1m3 said:It CAN be a good idea, depends on how it's executed.
