It's now October. Everyone be prepared for women to post things that sound like penis sizes but aren't, all in an effort to "raise awareness for breast cancer." Here's the problem I have with that train: WE'RE ALREADY AWARE THAT YOU ARE NOT POSTING PENIS SIZES. And that is a problem. You see, if we already know you are posting "penis" sizes that aren't penis sizes, then we're already aware of breast cancer. You need to hit a new demographic.
I propose the following solution: start campaigns to raise awareness of breast cancer in third world countries. Somalia is a good one. You can post things that sound like weapon models, locations of tourist vessels that are lightly guarded, and when the next UN food shipment arrives. But the joke is on the warlords, because when they get there they will be all "Oh, it was about breast cancer! I should donate some money to that cause."
Oh. Wait.

Well it is breast cancer awareness month, so if you have a Facebook, be prepared to witness teenagers and trendy older women to post things that sound like penis sizes, but aren't. This is SUPPOSED to raise awareness for breast cancer.
I've had a problem with this "awareness" campaign for some time. I think it actually distracts from an otherwise worthy cause because only people who are actually in on the joke get it. Which means zero awareness has been raised. The latest permutation of this has been to post the length of a woman's foot, and then something like "5 minutes". I've not figured out exactly what the time period is supposed to mean, but that is what I'm talking about. I'm more interested in figuring out what that part is supposed to be rather than doing anything to help those with breast cancer.
I think it would be a much better idea to actually say something about breast cancer than to post inane things about your shoe size when dealing with a disease that can, you know, kill people.
So, Escapist, what do you think? Do you think that this campaign has any justification, do you think it helps the cause in any way, and if someone can please explain what the hell the "5 minutes" has to do with anything I would greatly appreciate it.
