Surely 3 years into the future all the publishers will use a streaming service and all this will be a bit moot since you won't need to actually hand them money and probably just take the service that has loads of ads.

Recently I've not been playing games anywhere near as regularly as I used to.
In three years I won't have as much spare time or money, so rather than deal with this fiasco I'd quit gaming.

I'd carry on as normal.

I don't use Steam or other online platforms like that so i'd carry on getting my games from my beloved Amazon and playing the ones that take my fancy.

*IF* (and that is a big if) that were to happen, it seems rather likely to me that the various publishers would allow us to move our CD Keys from Steam to their DD platform before losing them on Steam, much like how EA allowed me to register my Mass Effect and Sims 3 CD Keys on Origin. As I feel no particular loyalty to Steam, I'd just get whatever download manager I need to play the games I want to play and not worry too much about it.

this, very much this, unless their ELUA is dickish like origins was, then that game(s) is an acceptable lose to keep spyware off my PC
