Poll: Jak & Dextar

ok lets just take a quick look back in time . the first Jak & dextar got released and it's a great game with immersive story, fun gameplay and solid graphics then Jak & Dextar 2 comes along or better know just as Jak2 now this one takes a huge twist setting completely changes,,, age rating changes, jak personality and hairstyle changes, EVERYTHING.

now at first it was WHAT!!! but after you pick up the game and start playing you realise that this was actually a smart move (or atleast i did) . After a year (correct if my timline is wrong) Jak 3 comes along being better than ever with proably one of the most solid mix of gameplay with shooting, platforming, racing and a tiny bit of RPG so Jak3 was basically the perfect adventure game.

now those where the PS2 great days but now ne have moved onto PS3 i understand why the developers wanted to try something new ,but why end something thats so good , yes JAK X:combat racing was also a great game but it wasn't a proper Jak game (although still a good one) with the PS3 it's unimaginible what they can make of the oh so awsome Jak & Dextar series , who wouldn't wanna see a new Jak and Dextar game on the PS3 just think of the great possibillties anyway post your thoughts

Real quick note here: this is kind of a pet peeve of mine but it's hard to believe that you enjoy the games when you misspell one of the title characters' names. It's Jak and Daxter, not Dextar.

Now that I've got that out of my system, I do enjoy the Jak and Daxter games, and if they make another one, I'll be all over it.

Also, Ratchet and Clank should so meet Jak and Daxter. There could be some kind of time-portal thing and they have to team up to defeat a Dr.Who type character.

I wonder how the story would be though, I suppose Jak (Mar) will eventually go off and build stuff in a weird paradox because two Jaks exist in one time period, and that may either be a Dark Cloud type thing (Great), or a Banjo & Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts type monstrosity(Bad), but whatever.
And a whole Ratchet meets Jak thing would be great, but instead, I think it should be a pitched rivalry, that would entertain me for a long time, Ratchet with eco powers, good God, that would be amazing.

Played the whole first game, and never liked:

Double jump only at the top of your jump. Should have been at any time like in Maximo.
Reversed X camera control, with no option to change it.

Played a little of the second. Did not like the GTA aspect. It was clearly shoehorned in because GTA was a big success.

Ignored the third.

I think that Jak 2 and 3 focused too much on the gunplay and made the world smaller. Sure, they are good games, but I feel they are missing the charm from the first game. The guns were fun to use and there was some vareity to them, but they made all of the other attacks useless. I also miss the all of other types of eco, too.

What you are describing sounds more like the Sony equivilant of Super Smash Bros, and I will say as I have many times, that would be awesome on so many different levels. But we also need to add the Sly gang.

I didn't mean it quite like that.
I meant like two "campaigns" I guess, one from Jak's POV, and one from Ratchet's.
Like when the Spyro and Crash Bandicoot universes collided.
And adding the Sly gang would either work as three different people or as a "Pokemon Trainer" like thing in SSBB

No it won't. Naught Dog are working on Uncharted 2, for reasons that probably make sense only to them.

They will be making Lost Frontier eventually, but it won't be 2009.

Eh, just read the uncharted article and it seems Jak LF will be the next title after UC2. And its most likely they are working on UC2 because UCF was well liked by critics and will sell like hotcakes because of its graphics.

Heres a better idea, Jak vs Ratchet in the future...No team up but the entire game will consist of RAisq unrealistic time collasps and events changing retardly like the two of them fighting cavemen or something. And then jak and ratchet kill each other while clank and daxter becomes best freinds who after the death of jak and ratchet start fighting each other..And then the time portal collapse and nothing really happened.

We've already got 4 games that are redefining console graphics capabilities in 2009! Do Sony studios just not communicate with each other? Hell, when one of these studios works about 300 metres from you, you'd figure they'd know what the other was doing.

Because you could be making fun games, not games that only really fill a niche that others are filling to the brim.

I absolutely loved the Jak and Daxter series, and I am praying to god that a PS3 Jak and Daxter game will come out sometime.

And please, Naughty Dog? Insomniac? Sucker Punch maybe? Do some sortof collaboration of something. Please....if it's possible we would love you guys even more.

I would love to see a new Jak and Daxter game! That would kick so much ass! Jak 3 was so freakin' confusing at the end, and it left you with a huge cliffhanger. It would be great to see the franchise come back. It would be even better if the game was on the 360. Even if it didn't though, I would buy a PS3 to play that game again!
