Is this a serous question?

James Bond could beat Jason Bourne with both hands tied behind his back.

Tough call. Connery is awesome, but I must hold firm on my conviction that James Bond is a terrible spy.

Bourne would win, Bond is a spy who knows how to fight well enough while Bourne is an assassin who also needs to be able to sneak up on his opponents and track them from the shadows. They are very different approaches and both are the best at what they do (in terms of movies) but Bourne is clearly the killer of the two.

Heres what would happen.

Bond would take out a pistol, say a catchy one liner, but midway through, Jason Bourne would be behind him and would of snapped his neck by then.

there is jut no contest here,Bond would win hands down.

now if it was the NEW crybaby Bond played by Daniel Craig, then sadly Bond would lose...then again i dont consider Daniel Craig Bond at all,he is more like a creepy fanfic demented cousin Crames Bond...seriously he cant act,and ruins the Bond name...

anyway, yeah before this little thing even started Bond already won. Jason would probably wet his pants in fear xD

James Bond definitely. Sticking with him may not always be safe, but odds are you'll be ok. Unless you got stuck with Lazenby Bond, then you would be fucked.

Jason Bourne by far. Even Daniel Craig Bond would lose because to Bourne because Bourne has repeatedly beaten the best that the CIA has to offer. He outsmarts everybody and could easily outsmart Bond, who quite honestly has a propensity to get caught in traps.
Except its a known trope that the CIA is portrayed as retards while MI6 is somehow portrayed as more competent.
Except in Golden Eye where about 20-30 US operatives of some sort, I guessed Seals, were concealed within 30 feet of where Bond landed? Or how in Bourne movies, the CIA pulls off assassinations across Europe, particularly one in a busy train station in the middle of what I think was London.

Bond without question, he's done more missions in a staggering variety of locations and situations, is a trained marksman with nigh on every firearm and a master practitioner of Judo as well as being taught Ninjutsu in You Only Live Twice, thats the fighting style of REAL ninjas, not that clap your hands and summon a giant frog bollocks from the show that can not be named. He can pilot fighter jets and helicopters, drive tanks and other armoured vehicles as well as boats and submersibles and has regularly defeated assassins that are regarded as some of the best in the world (e.g. Scaramanga) not just the CIA. Hell in Quantum of Solace he beats a high ranking CIA agent and in the Casino/Solace storyline he's only just earned his 00 and license to kill.

Bourne, while undoubtedly skilled, is just a glorified assassin with a few flashy martial arts moves. Bond has more skill and experience. Now if it were Agent 47 gunning for Bond... THAT would be interesting.

Why are people even debating this!? It would obviously be James Bond! I think the fight we all want to see is..

That would be a worthy fight to see.

Jason Bourne doesnt even come close to Bond. The entire Bourne series look like they are filmed by a guy with Parkison. Seriously so much shaky cam just gives me headaches.

Bond movies are classics and always will be. Bourne would stand zero chance against Bond.

It doesn't matter, George Smiley would have to pick up the pieces and poor old Harry Palmer would still do all the real work.

You mean in the battle of bull shit martial arts? I would give it to the Pierce Brosnan Bond.

Sean Conery would finish him like a gentleman and get all the lady's right after.

I love all Bonds except for Daniel craig, who's take on the character is just "generic action hero" and expresses himself just as poorly as Keanu Reeves.
Same here, I never figured out what his appeal is.

It depends, Sean Connery or Pierce BROSNAN Bond would destroy Bourne, but if its that ***** Daniel Craig, or whatever his name is, Bourne would kill his whiny ass.
are you stupid? pierce brosnan............NO, Daniel Craig has been the toughet bond yet.

People say that bourne would beat bond in a fistfight, noooooo, 1. this is one I hear alot 'Bourne would just use a pen' That's not a fistfight then isit? and secondly, Bourne has been trained and more transformed than Bond which I believe is a disadvantage for Bourne, Bond is more of a brawler, he has more confidence, he's tougher, more resillient, he'd keep getting up!
You'll have to excuse me as you're about a year late to this conversation, as such I no longer give a fuck about this thread or the opinion of those who have posted in it.

Good day, sir or madam.

If we're talking book Bourne vs. Connery Bond, it's Bourne all the way. He'd turn the $3000 into $3,000,000 and use his underworld contacts to find Bond and take him down. If it's movie Bourne, Bond wins unless they get into a fist fight. And book Bourne would still kick movie Bourne's ass in a standup fight.

I honestly haven't read enough of the Bond Books to have much of an opinion on what book Bond would do. From what I've read, book Bond has more in common with book Bourne[footnote]although the two are definitely different characters; they're just more like each other than they are like their respective movie adaptations[/footnote] than he does with any of the movie versions, except maybe Daniel Craig, who was himself /way/ more Bourne than he was Bond.

Edit: Aaaaaaaand it's a a necro. I need to pay more attention to posting dates and less attention to a thread's position on the list.

I'm bias to say Bond regardless which actors is playing as him since I was never to keen with the Bourne Identity film series.
