Yeah... I haven't really even been trying but I'm at about 15000.

I've 1000 (the original 1000) for two games: Mirror's Edge and Halo: Reach. Extremely close for Borderlands and I have over 1000 (including DLC achievements) for Halo 3. I like getting all the achievements sometimes, but it's so hard when online is taken into account.

I'm somewhere around 25,000 Gamerscore right now - but I've been playing Oblivion on PC more lately, so its not going to rise anymore for a while - until SR3 comes out!

I like the PS3. It's just a personal preference I have, like Mac vs. PC. But if Sony doesn't give me a big satisfying number to wave around, I might just change consoles next gen. Counting the number of gold trophies I have on one hand just gives me a sad and empty feeling.

I know that we play games because we enjoy the games themselves... but I NEED the points now!

My point was that I have no interest in gamerscore. It could be posted right here in this thread and I would be indifferent to it.

I'm a self proclaimed achievement whore, which I won't lie about. My score is currently at 21,685. That might not sound like a lot, though considering it's out of a possible 26,650, I don't think that's too bad though I don't go as far as playing a game I wouldn't get any enjoyment out of just for the sake of boosting my score. Go and read my original point - the reason I don't check is because I feel the number is indicative only of how many games I have had the luxury to play.

Acquiring certain achievements is a challenge, that's for sure. I just don't place any value in the overall gamerscore as it's more to do with how many games you can afford than anything else.

I play mainly online multiplayer which offers little in the way of achievements.

Do you even get anything for having lots of points or is it all will waving?

Really? I rarely play online multiplayer and figure my GS is about 1/3 to half of what it could be if I did.

Funny, I didn't realize the OP was asking what our opinions on Gamerscore was....

This thread has probably been done a million times but there don't seem to be any recent ones so here goes.

Anyway, after about 4 years of having a 360 I've reached 10000G (although I only had 6000 around last Christmas time and I don't have Live (yet)) with Red Dead Redemption.

So firstly, what is your gamerscore, based on how many games?
And secondly, what game do you have the most gamerpoints from?

I have no idea what the typical gamerscore is so the poll might be wonky

I don't have a 360 of my own, but Gamerscore either way is meaningless to me. Even amazingly high numbers are worthless, honestly. The points are arbitrary and there's no way to tell if you got 1000 GS in 10 minutes of The Last Airbender or hundreds of hours of something else. You have to dig through all their achievements and that's just a time waster.

Honestly, I care about achievements, but not the way anyone's implemented them yet. I want a simple system: no numbers, no points, not even an overall achievement count. Give me the ability to show off maybe my favorite 10 achievements on my gamercard or something. Only a few achievements ever actually felt like I accomplished something other than wasting time or grinding, so give me a way to communicate the ones I liked.

I breached 40,000 the other day. I have 1,230 points in TES IV: Oblivion and just need that "Duke of Mania" achievement, which I've tried to get on multiple occasions but it always bugs out killing my enthusiasm.

I too recently broke the 10k barrier when I completed Dragon Age 2 So congrats! As someone who plays solely for fun and not very often (I'm also a girl ) I was quite proud lol x
